In the thickness department, the Samsung Galaxy S9 is chunky than the Huawei P20. It measures at 8.5mm thickness while Huawei P20 comes at 7.7mm thickness. The Samsung Galaxy S9 weighs 163 grams, just 2 grams lighter than Huawei P20 (165 grams). They both have solid build. With glass front and back with aluminum frame.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 is water and dust proofed. With an IP68 certified rating meaning it can hold up in 1.5 metres for 30 minutes. Shockingly the Huawei P20 doesn’t have any IP certification rating. The dual rear camera of the Huawei P20 is in a vertical position at the top-left corner. The Samsung Galaxy S9 doesn’t have a dual rear camera. Its rear camera is at the top-middle.

Amazing camera quality from these two smartphones. But the quality of Huawei P20 camera is simply outstanding and it beats the Galaxy S9. The Huawei P20 sports a dual 12MP f/1.8 aperture and 20MP f/1.6 aperture with LED flash. And then front camera resolution of 20MP f/2.0 aperture. The Galaxy S9 features a 12MP rear camera with a dual aperture. The f/2.4 aperture for broad daylight snaps while the f/1.5 aperture for low-light snaps. And with a front camera resolution of 8MP f/1.7 aperture.

With Octa-core 2.7GHz processor. The Android 8.1 Oreo runs on the Huawei P20. While the Android 8.0 Oreo runs on the Samsung Galaxy S9.
Huawei P20 comes with the standard 4GB RAM size and 128GB internal storage. Samsung Galaxy S9 also comes with a 4GB RAM size. And then three internal storage variants; 64/128/256 GB.
