Last year, Huawei P9 Lite was released as a trimmed-down edition of the Huawei’s flagship P9. The Huawei P9 Lite made a successful impact in the smartphone market that the Chinese OEM had to launch another device – Huawei P9 Lite Mini. Even at its mini status, Huawei P9 Lite packs a very powerful camera ability and other impeccable features. Definitely, it isn’t an 100% device but it’s a very comfy device. DESIGN AND DISPLAY
Huawei P9 Lite Mini is a testimony that Huawei doesn’t joke with designs. At the top bezel, the front camera and earpiece are positioned nicely while the bottom bezel bears the HUAWEI logo. At the rear, the primary camera and the LED flash are arranged in a horizontal format that’s likened to the iPhone 7 camera arrangement. Also at the rear’s top quadrant is a fingerprint scanner. Towards the bottom quadrant of the rear is the HUAWEI logo and symbol. Huawei P9 Lite Mini has a glossy and smoothly furnished rear completely made of metal. The dimensions of the smartphone are 144 mm length x 71 mm width x 8.1 mm thickness. It weighs 144 g with its battery. The smartphone is available in Black, Gold and Silver colours.
The screen display size of this smartphone is 5.0 inches which is 0.2 inches lower than the Huawei P9 Lite. The screen resolution is fixed at 1280 x 720 pixels with a pixel density of 294 ppi. Its HD display has the 2.5D Curved Glass screen and 67.60% screen-to-body ratio.
HARDWARE, SOFTWARE AND MEMORY
Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 MSM8917 is the system-on-chip present on the device. The CPU powering the smartphone is a four-cored ARM Cortex-A53 processor that clocks at 1.4GHz. The CPU utilizes the 28nm process technology. And as Huawei will have it, the GPU present there is the Qualcomm Adreno 308. The smartphone’s RAM responsible for multi-tasking is 2GB while the ROM is 16GB. Its internal storage can be extended to 128GB with the adoption of a micro SD card. The smartphone’s UI is the Emotion UI 5.1 UI Lite that’s based on the smartphone’s OS – the Android v7.0 Nougat OS.
CAMERA AND CONNECTIVITY
The smartphone has a primary camera of 13MP located at its rear. The camera has a LED flash for brightening images in dark conditions. Some features of the smartphone’s camera include – PDAF sensor, HDR and panorama. The front camera has a 5MP shooter that executes selfies. 2G, 3G and 4G network types constitute the smartphone’s cellular connectivity.
BATTERY
Huawei P9 Lite Mini has a non-removable Lithium Polymer 3,020 mAh battery as its duration stronghold. The smartphone lacks the Quick Charging technology to reduce its charge time.
