After many months of leaks and rumors, Huawei has finally introduced the Huawei P40 range of smartphones. Along with the new equipment, the company also unveiled a new smartwatch called Huawei Watch GT2e. As the name suggests, it is a new variant of the Watch GT2 with a sportier and more accessible design than its predecessor.

The “e” model is based on the 46 mm version of the GT2 and has the same 1.39-inch AMOLED screen with 454 × 454 pixel resolution. The frames, however, are thicker. The watch measures 53.0 x 46.8 mm compared to 45.9 x 45.9 mm of the GT2. Another meaningful change is the bracelet that is now perforated to improve breathability. The new smartwatch has stainless steel construction and has 5 ATM water resistance.

The company claims that the Huawei Watch GT2e can offer 2 weeks of battery life, thanks to the Kirin A1 chipset that saves a lot of energy. It is another chipset manufactured by Huawei, clearly oriented towards smartwatches. However, if you are using GPS tracking for exercise, the watch can last a total of 30 hours. If you decide to listen to music via Bluetooth, then the battery can last 24 hours.
The watch has 4 GB of storage, which can hold at least 500 songs.
The GT2e can accompany all types of exercises – from skateboarding to climbing, from surfing to street dancing. In addition, you can take a dip in the pool or in the open sea. While at home, you can use treadmills, elliptical machines, and oars.
Huawei wants to ensure that this new smartwatch is sufficient for all your exercise needs.
However, the SpO2 sensor allows the watch to calculate VO2Max (higher readings show better resistance). It is also capable of accompanying aerobic and anaerobic exercises. As the watch tracks your progress in weekly workouts, it also indicates your training intensity and recovery times. In addition, there is a feature called TruRelax. This helps to manage stress with breathing exercises and to monitor sleep. It is able to detect 6 common types of sleep problems.
The new smartwatch will be available in graphite black, lava red, mint green, and icy white. The price is 200 Euros.
