Like we all know iLife to be that brand that puts so much efforts into producing quality and portable laptops, smartphones, and other electronic devices like vacuum robots. Aside being good quality, iLife products are also reasonably affordable. If you didn’t know, well, now you do.
Seeing what the US-based firm have done on previous laptops like the iLife Zed Air, the Zed Air Mini, and iLife Zed Air 2, I’m pretty sure the iLife Zed Air H2 would not fall short of the great features other new and old laptops in the Zed Air family offer.
DESIGN
If there’s one thing iLife isn’t good at, it definitely has to be making or producing bulky or ugly laptops. And I think this is every laptop users dream/goal; being able to carry your laptop in our bag pack and almost forget that you are carrying one. The iLife Zed Air H2 is an ultra slim PC. Measuring as slim as 16.2mm thickness-wise, the iLife Zed Air H2 is just as slim as the ZED Air 2, also from iLife’s Zed Air line of laptop. I earlier stated that the device is lightweight, but didn’t give out the exact mass of the laptop in unit. The iLife Zed Air H2 weighs only 1.53 kg when placed on a measuring scaled, of course without any accessories like charger.
The Zed Air H2 is available in 2 colour variants only; Gold and Silver. The portable Zed Air H2 comes with only 2 USB ports; one on each sides of the laptop. One of the USB port is a USB 2.0 while the other is the USB 3.0. Other available ports include the 3.5mm headset jack, mini HDMI port and microSD card port.
At the top of the screen, a tiny 0.3 Megapixels camera is embedded for taking pictures, for video chats and video recordings.
The keyboard consists of black keypads and the silver coloured Zed Air H2 really rhymes so good with the keyboard colour, giving it a really nice aesthetic. The keypad follows the standard QWERTY arrangement, doesn’t bulge out too much and isn’t backlit.
DISPLAY
The iLife Zed Air H2 has a 14.0 inch display; somewhere between the conventional 15.6 inch and 13.0 inch laptops. The screen size was particularly adopted to make the Zed Air H2 fit into the manufacturer’s goal of making it as compact as possible.
The Zed Air H2’s display is however the same as that on previous laptops from the manufacturer. Both in term of size and quality. The ZedAir H2 has a display resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels which is (let’s say) at the bottom of the barrel in nowadays laptop screens. The resolution is fine, and the quality of the display will be decent and little way above average when using your device for just petty office works.
The iLife Zed Air H2 may however disappoint if you are a fan of high-definition movie and pictures as it may not give the “best” of viewing angles, but it’s pretty much the standard with budget laptops.
HARDWARE & STORAGE
Powered by Intel, the iLife Zed Air H2 uses the Celeron processor with a total of tow/dual cores and a base frequency of 1.1GHz. However, during usage, the Zed Air 2 can reach a speed of 2.4GHz which is pretty impressive for a laptop as this.
Per storage, the Zed Air H2 is similar to the iLife Zed Air 2 by sporting 3GB of RAM for app multi-tasking, smooth and unruffled execution of tasks. And unlike previous iLife laptops that require an external , the Zed Air H2 has a reasonable built-in HDD. Asides rocking a 32GB eMMC, there is an 500GB embedded HDD in it. This gives room for storage freedom to keep all files, documents, videos and any thing worth being.
BATTERY
iLife prides the Zed Air H2 as a PC with a reliable power back up. I really do not know if the 4,800 mAh battery is reliable or not, but one thing that I do know for sure is; any laptop that can provide 8 hours of uninterrupted usage is the definition of “reliable power back up”. Now 8 hours of usage definitely sounds exaggerated for this battery size, however, be sure to get between 4-6.5 hours of usage from the iLife Zed Air H2.

The iLife Zed Air H2 laptop isn’t just a laptop, but a symbol that iLife is steadily growing its laptop manufacturing game. Also, it shows that iLife makes the cheapest laptop with quality specs. Windows 10, 14 inch display, 16.2mm slimness level, 3GB RAM, 500GB HDD and 4,800mAh battery for less than $200 is a definitely a good buy, especially if you are on a budget.
