Infinix Note 5 VS Infinix Note 4 – is the Infinix Note 5 a worthy successor?

Infinix Note 5 VS Infinix Note 4 – is the Infinix Note 5 a worthy successor? Just barely two months after the release of the Infinix Hot 6, Infinix Mobility is making the headline again. This time around it’s the Infinix Note 5, which is a successor to the 2017’s Infinix Note 4. A lot of smartphone users will agree with me that the Infinix Note 4 didn’t do enough to outclass the Infinix Note 3. So this leaves Infinix Mobility with a great deal of tasks in making sure the new Infinix Note 5 surpass the Infinix Note 4 and probably the Infinix Note 3 (the best smartphone in the Infinix Note series so far).

The Note series has been one of the most successful series for Infinix Mobility. And it’s somewhat like a flagship for the OEM company. It’s probably my best series from them and we all hope the new Infinix Note 5 doesn’t disappoint. Well, a detailed comparison between the Infinix Note 5 and the Infinix Note 4 will tell us more about that.

Infinix Note 5 VS Infinix Note 4 – The Design

The Infinix Note 5 comes in a whole different design compared to other smartphones under the Note series. The fingerprint sensor of the Infinix Note 4 is front mounted. While the fingerprint sensor has been moved to the back on the Infinix Note 5 to make room for a bigger screen. The rear camera of the Infinix Note 4 is at the top center just like the Note 2 and Note 3. While on the Infinix Note 5, the rear camera is aligned at the top left corner with the LED flash.

The Infinix Note 5 measures 158 x 75 x 8.4 mm in dimensions while the Note 4 measures 159 x 78.8 x 8.4 mm. In terms of weight, the Infinix Note 5 weighs 173 grams, which is a good improvement to the 196 grams of the Infinix Note 4. The Black and Blue Grey body colors option are available on the Infinix Note 5. While the Milan Black, Champagne Gold and Ice Blue body colors option are available for the Infinix Note 4. Don’t really see why the Infinix Note 5 shouldn’t have a Gold boy color option, it’s one of the best colors on the Note 2, 3 and 4.

Infinix Note 5 VS Infinix Note 4 – The Display

Infinix smartphones in 2024 have all adopted the trending 18:9 aspect ratio. The Infinix Hot S3 was the first, followed by the Infinix 6 duo and now we have the Infinix Note 5 with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The Infinix Note 4 features a 5.7 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution and 294 pixels per inch density. While the Infinix Note 5 sports a bigger 6.0 inch IPS LCD touchscreen, 79% screen-to-body ratio, an 18:9 aspect ratio, 1080 x 2160 pixels resolution and 402 pixels per inch density.

Infinix Note 5 VS Infinix Note 4 – The Camera

The camera Infinix Note 5 sports AI-features unlike the Note 4. The Infinix Note 4 features a 13MP rear camera with dual-LED flash. While the rear camera of the Note 5 packs a 12MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture. At the front camera, the Infinix Note 4 features an 8MP shooter with LED flash. Obviously, the Infinix Note 5 will perform tasks more efficiently than the Note 4.

Running on the Infinix Note 4 is Android 7.0 Nougat with XOS 2.2 skin and a 16GB internal storage with either 2GB or 3GB memory. While the Infinix Note 5 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and surprisingly it’s an Android One smartphone. What this means is that there is no XOS user interface on the Note 5, what you’ll get is a pure Android operating software with no customization.
