The Infinix Smart 2 has been quietly introduced in Pakistan ahead of its launch in Africa. Infinix has just resurrected the Smart series with the Smart 2 device which runs on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo.
The device is loaded with the trending Face ID feature, fingerprint scanner, dual 4G LTE and 18:9 aspect ratio screen. The device is perfect for Infinix fans on a budget who can’t afford the Hot 6 and Hot 6 Pro. Without further ado, lets meet the Infinix Smart 2.
Design
The device sports the modern and fashionable design and available in beautiful colors as well. It has a Metallic feel texture with a premium overall look. There’s a rear loudspeaker at the bottom corner for quality sounds.
While the rear camera and LED flash are vertically placed at the top left corner which is very trendy. There’s a version with fingerprint scanner and a cheaper variant without it, there’s also Face ID. It measures 8.4mm in thickness when you turn to the sides and available in Black, Rose Gold, Blue and Red colors.
Display
Infinix is all about the Infinity display this 2018, the 18:9 aspect ratio screen has found its way to the Smart series. It has super minimal bezels, which gives room for a more bigger display and less distraction.
The 5.5-inch HD+ TFT capacitive touchscreen should display your movies and games clearly. It boasts of 1440 x 720 pixels in resolution and 282 pixel per inch density making details on the screen clear enough.
Hardware and Software
The Smart 2 is powered by the MediaTek MT6739 chip which was built on a 28nm process technology. It comes with 4-cores of processor which is based on Cortex-A53 architecture clocking at 1.5GHz max. While the PowerVR GE8100 graphics processor clocks at 570MHz.
For multitasking, it has the standard 2GB of RAM, this should be more than enough for light users, there’s a cheaper variant with 1GB. There’s 16GB storage space available to store files and apps, you can also upgrade up to 128GB using a memory card. The Smart 2 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with XOS 3.0.
Camera
The 13MP rear camera at the rear comes loaded with bokeh effect and a dual-LED flash. There are other Internal features to help enhance your photography. While the 8MP selfie camera handles your selfies with a dedicated dual-tone flash and supports Face ID.
Battery
Powering the Infinix Smart 2 is a 3050mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with no fast charging technology. Without the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% might take up to 2.3 hours.
