Instagram Announces Changes Highlight Reels, Shop Features

As a way of pleasing its users, Instagram has made changes overnight on its app that would affect the way people make use of Reels and Shop processes. True, the company had its audience waiting for breath-taking “big changes” to the app. These changes, the team said, are going to put new features right in the faces of users.

Unlike the way it used to be when Reels and Shop tabs were not on the front page, now these two features receive prominence. It also means that people are able to see them easily now and make use of them without searching for them. They are now at the front and center of the landing page, right there on the navigation bar.

Instagram brought up Reels to compete with TikTok. It lives inside of Instagram and enables people to create short vertical videos. The camera recorder is similar when compared to that of TikTok’s. The idea is for more and more people to watch these short videos from Reels as the latest updates. A commentator offers that Reels is a type of stage where users can share creativity without much hindrance. Those making use of it can break and become popular as these reach out to a worldwide audience.

These features are not new at all. Before, those who made use of these features may have to search for them. Though the Shop button isn’t changed, IGTV was more of what is now known as Reels. The company is making use of the Shop tab to make it easy for people to shop on the social media platform, and get inspired by creators of their choice.

Instagram is aware that the way people use the internet is changing, and its platform is part of the modern internet. Responding to questions, a rep says that the issue isn’t that the company changes too fast, but that if it doesn’t change, it may become irrelevant.
