Incidentally, this is also the first smartphone from the company in the Android One lineup from Google which also consists of other phones with hardware from OEM and software from Google. As far as the smartphone is concerned, the Xiaomi Mi A1 is the first device in the Android One series that features flagship mid-range specs.
One of the most interesting features that the smartphone comes with is the dual camera setup on the rear which was the first phone by Xiaomi that features this kind of setup. Features of the Mi A1’s dual-camera setup include Portrait Mode, Optical zoom up to 2x as well as improvements to the still image and video quality.
However, it is widely accepted that the Google Camera app is the best camera application for Android when it comes to smartphone photography and videography as evident from the Pixel and Pixel 2 smartphone cameras. As such, a lot of smartphone users have switched to this app on their phones for better image quality. One obstacle here is that the Google Camera app is not available for non-Google smartphones.
Thus, we have brought you a simple guide thanks to XDA developer, AdrianeAM, who has posted a tool for the Xiaomi Mi A1 which you can use to install Google Cam on your device.
Features:
– Install drivers: You can install 1.4.3 or 1.3 version of this fantastic tool: Link
– Enable HAL3, EIS and install GCam: Install “GoogleCamera-Pixel2Mod-Arnova8G2-V1” with portrait, zsl, front hdr+, … and open a image with configuration instructions.
(You can delete it and install any GCam version but it’s necessary use that button to enable camera2Api, EIS) Disable HAL3, EIS
