Intex Aqua Lions E3 Review – Low-end Smartphone With 2,500 mAh Battery

Intex Aqua Lions E3 enters the Intex’s Aqua Lions series as it was announced recently. The smartphone, being of the entry level status has features such as its Spreadtrum SC9832A chipset to express its status. However the smartphone sports the Android Nougat OS, which isn’t bad for an entry-level smartphone. The smartphone was targeted at the Indian market which isn’t a big surprise given the smartphone OEM’s base. Let’s check out more details about the device as we proceed.

Design And Display

Made up of plastic body material, the smartphone comes in only Black color. Its back has a smooth feel with the Intex logo, single camera, LED flash and speaker grille making appearances. The front of the smartphone has bezels on all sides although the top and bottom bezels are thicker than the side bezels, which is expected. Front camera, earpiece and ambient light sensor are present at the top bezel whooshed bottom bezel only houses the Android navigation keys. Volume keys appear on the left side of the smartphone while the power button appears on the right side of the smartphone. 3.5 mm audio out port and Micro USB v2.0 are present on the device. The dimensions of the Intex Aqua Lions E3 are 145 mm length, 73 mm width and 8 mm thickness. However, its weight is 154 g.

Intex Aqua Lions E3 has an average 5.0 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen as its display region. The screen has an HD display of 720 x 1280 pixels and a pixel density of 294 PPI. Its screen-to-body ratio pegs 65% while its display colors hit the 16 million mark.


Rear photography on this smartphone is handled by an 8 MP camera with a LED flash for brightness. Features such as HDR  panorama, CMOS sensor and auto focus are available to enhnaced the camera functions. In the front camera region, a single 5 MP camera takes care of snapping selfies.

CPU, OS & Storage

A Quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 CPU handles key activities on the smartphone. The CPU is enclosed within Spreadtrum SC9832A chipset. This processor has the 32-bit architecture, and utilizes the 28 nm process technology. In the graphics region of this Intex Aqua Lions E3, ARM Mali-400 MP2 GPU is in charge. Android 7.0 Nougat OS serves as the software of the smartphone. 2GB RAM on the smartphone sees to the smooth running of apps on the device. Internal storage on the other hand has 16 GB capacity which can be enlarged with the use of a MicroSD card.


Intex Aqua Lions E3 is powered by a removable Li-Ion 2,500 mAh battery.
