The evolution of the Intex Aqua series is one that hasn’t failed to amuse me. I mean, what’s not there to laugh at? The first I heard of was the Intex Aqua View, and at the time I thought “well, it’s one of those smartphones that they launch every day…nothing special.” When I began to learn about other members of the series, however, I became quite amused; it seems like when Intex is about to launch a new smartphone, the staff takes up the dictionary and chooses a random adjective or noun and bam! That’s the name of the next Intex phone.
Or what do you make of this; a single smartphone series containing phones named Craze, Power, View, Remote, Music and Trend all in one? Well, it’s time to welcome another smartphone appointed in like manner for the series. Intex has launched the Intex Aqua Strong 5.2 in India as a successor to the Aqua Strong 5.1 which was launched only last month.
With the way the trend of the naming of smartphones in the Intex Aqua series is going, I won’t be surprised if next month the Intex Aqua Muscle or Intex Aqua Bold is released. Just wait for it.
Intex Aqua Strong 5.2 Specifications
Display & Design
Most people would think that the 5.2 in the smartphone’s name stands for its screen size (I thought that at first, too), but that is not so. The Intex Aqua Strong 5.2 comes with a 5-inch IPS display with an FWVGA (854 * 480) pixel resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection, just like its predecessor.
The design of the Intex Aqua Strong 5.2 is very similar to that of the Aqua Strong 5.1. The body is made of metal, and the edges are rounded. The smartphone is 9.47mm thick and weighs 150 grammes.
Memory & Performance
Under the hood, the Intex Aqua Strong 5.2 possesses the same SoC setup found in the Aqua Strong 5.1. It is powered by a Quad-core 64-bit MediaTek MT6735 processor with a speed of 1GHz. The Soc also contains a Mali-T720 GPU.
Coming to memory specifications, the Intex Aqua Strong 5.2 deviates from its predecessor; everything is double double. It comes with 2GB of RAM instead of the 1GB RAM in the Strong 5.1, and has an internal storage capacity of 16GB instead of the 8GB capacity on the Strong 5.1. The internal memory can be expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card.
Battery
The Intex Aqua Strong 5.2 packs a 2,800mAh battery that would pull you through a day with medium usage, but won’t do too well for hardcore gamers and phone addicts like me.
Connectivity
Like all other smartphones in the Intex Aqua series, the Intex Aqua Strong 5.2 comes with a dual SIM slot and supports 4G LTE network bands. The smartphone also has VoLTE support.
Other connectivity features are WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.
Camera
There is nothing too exciting here; the Intex Aqua Strong 5.2 has a 5MP primary camera unit with LED flash, and a 2MP selfie camera also with LED flash.
Software and Hardware
The Intex Aqua Strong 5.2 comes with a 3.5mm audio jack and supports FM Radio. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
