Itel has launched a new smartphone in India, a market it just ventured into, and the phone looks nothing similar to its products in Nigeria. Dubbed itel it1520, the smartphone comes with a 2GB RAM as against the 512MB that is its trademark in Nigeria. Just recently we were teased about the impending launch of the it1516 Plus with just 1GB RAM which doesn’t even come close. The device is projected as a selfie-focused smartphone, tagging along with it a cool 13-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash. The device is also said to come with an iris scanning feature which should likely be through the front camera because there seem not to be a dedicated iris scanner like the Samsung Galaxy S7’s.

The itel it1520 comes sporting a 5-inch On-cell display with HD resolution a.k.a 1280 x 720 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz Quad-core MediaTek processor with Mali-T720 GPU. A 2GB RAM complements the processor, and there is 16GB of built-in storage which is expandable up to 64GB.

The it1520 is a dual-SIM smartphone and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system Also; the device comes with a dimension of 142.1 x 71 x 9.4mm, and despite the 9.4mm thickness, there is just a 2,500mAh battery under its hood. Connectivity options available include; 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS etc.
Camera
Talking about the camera, the itel it1520 features a 13-megapixel primary camera at the rear with dual LED flash and also there is a 13-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash for selfie snapshots. The front camera will likely function as the biometric scanner to unlock the smartphone.

The itel it1520 comes in just two colour variants – Sandstone Black and Champagne colours and carries a price tag of Rs 8490 in India. No words yet on when the device will ship to Nigeria, Kenya or any other country but when it does ship to Nigeria, the it1520 will be priced around N40,000 Naira.
