Some weeks back, we wrote an article reporting on available information and details about the upcoming Google Pixel smartphone. Luckily, some websites have leaked much information about Google’s upcoming smartphones.
The official announcement is scheduled for October 4th, next week, but we can already tell you some information now.
Google plans to announce two smartphones – Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2 XL, which will be logically larger. As for the larger XL model, we can probably look forward to the no-frame display that all smartphone manufacturers seem to be entering.
According to the published information, the Google Pixel 2 XL has a curved QHD display with a screen-to-frame ratio of 80-85%.
The leaked info shows that the novelty will be available in three colour variants – white, blue and black. As for the operating system, it should be the new Android 8.0 Oreo.
Inside, we find the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and the storage should be 64GB or 128GB. The new should have dual stereo speakers. The biggest surprise is the missing 3.5mm jack, whose absence on the iPhone 7 was criticised last year.
In addition to the dual camera, the unknown quality and resolution, the Google Pixel 2 XL will have a 3,520 mAh battery. Revealed information also says that only some markets will get USB-C headphones directly in the box. Let’s see how it will finally be.
As for the smaller Google Pixel 2 model, the gossip says the design will not change the smartphone from the previous year, except for the 3.5mm jack that is missing in this model.
The absence of this jack was necessary due to dual stereo speakers. The smaller model display will have Full HD resolution. Battery life should be only 2,700 mAh.
Interestingly, Google Pixel 2 will be made by HTC, while the Google Pixel 2 XL is to be manufactured by LG.
All fans of this smartphone are undoubtedly interested in the price. The year-round Google Pixel models started at 649 dollars for the standard version and 769 dollars for the XL version.
This year’s Google flagship will probably not be cheaper, rather vice versa. When we see rising prices for this year’s smartphones, we can expect Google not to get the most affordable smartphone.
