Brand new mobile always involves installing basic applications that cannot be lacking in it. One indisputable is WhatsApp, but do you know how you can recover all the conversations you saved on your previous device? We will show you how to have a backup of your WhatsApp chats and restore them on your Android mobile.
WhatsApp is one of the most useful apps that we can use every day. Surely it is hard for you to keep track of the times you entered it to read or send messages. And sure, too, that there will be many of those conversations that you do not want to lose under any circumstances. Therefore, it is essential that you know how to save those conversations through a backup and that, if you end up installing WhatsApp on a new mobile, you can easily recover them. We teach you!
How to back up your chats
Safely saving all the conversations that you have in WhatsApp is a simple task. You only have to open your application and, clicking on the three vertical points that you have in the upper right part of the app, click on Settings. Once here, you must go to the Chats option and then to Backup.
The service with which the backup copies of WhatsApp chats are made on Android is Google Drive. In the menu that appears after clicking on Backups, you can see when the last copy was made and below, you can change the settings of the chats backup. This is where you can choose which Drive account you want to store these copies, how often if you want them to be made only when you are connected to a Wi-Fi network and if you also want to include the videos sent to you.
Restore an old copy of your WhatsApp chats
It can often happen to us that our mobile is stolen and we have to use another one or we bought a new phone and, with it, we want to have all the conversations that we had in the previous mobile when installing WhatsApp. If in your previous device you used to keep a copy periodically, as we have seen in the previous photo, you do not have to worry about it. Restore a backup is very simple because as soon as we install WhatsApp in a new phone and verify our phone, the application itself will be the one that asks us if we want to recover conversations from any backup.
Finally, if you have downloaded WhatsApp again on your phone or just installed it for the first time in a new terminal, remember to activate the option to make backup copies with Google Drive in the settings tab, as we have shown to the principle of this article. The safest thing is that nothing else to restore your chats when re-installing the app, be it the one that asks you if you want to make backup copies, as we showed in the photo on the left. This way, you will make sure to keep your conversations safe in the cloud.
