Processor, Storage & Battery

The flagship Le Max 2 sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset which has four Kyro cores clocked at 2.15GHz along with Adreno 530GPU. The Le Max 2 comes with a 4GB RAM version and another with 6GB RAM, and also has sports a 32GB on-board storage variant as well as a 64 GB storage capacity variant. By the way, the Le Max 2 is the first device in India with 6GB RAM.

The LeEco Le Max 2 comes with a 3,100mAh battery which supports both Quick Charge 3.0 as well as LeEco’s own fast charging feature.

Operating System, Camera and Software

The Le Max 2 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and comes with LeEco’s proprietary eUI skin atop it.

The 5.7-inch device brings to play, a massive 21 mega pixel rear facing camera with dual-tone LED flash and up front it packs a cool 8 mega pixel camera. The device also has a finger print scanner at the back.

However, LeEco has dropped an essential feature from the new smartphone that is usually taken for granted — a 3.5mm audio port.

The LeEco Le Max 2 and Le 2 are the first smartphones to come without a standard 3.5mm earphone jack. Both smartphones feature USB Type-C audio output only. This means that the charging and data transfer port also works as the headphone port.

The headphones feature CDLA or Continual Digital Lossless Audio standard, which supposedly delivers clearer audio as compared to Hi-Fi audio standards.

LeEco says until now, the audio decoder was built inside the smartphones. However, it has managed to put the audio decoder inside the headphone cable itself.

The company already has launched its USB Type-C headphones and earphones, price in the range of Rs 1,500 and Rs 2,000.

With this, users will either need Bluetooth headphones or have to buy USB Type-C headphones. The company is yet to confirm whether or not, it will bundle its USB Type-C earphones with both Le 2 and Le Max 2 smartphones. However, it might offer an adapter for free.

The LeEco Le Max 2 is priced at a cheap price of Rs 22,999 in India which is about N70,000 in Nigeria for the higher 6GB RAM + 64GB storage version.. Also, the Le Max 2 offers users free membership to LeEco’s Supertainment package (worth around Rs 4,900).
