Lenovo K5 Note 2018 made its debut as well in Beijing when the company released its trio of smartphones, a smartwatch and its latest user interface. Apart from the K5 Note 2018, the Z5 and A5 got their time on screen as well.
The Lenovo K5 Note 2018 is the upgraded version from the company’s 2016 K5 Note device. This year’s version comes with a tall 18:9 aspect ratio screen and powered by the Snapdragon 450 chip. There’s a dual rear camera and 64GB/4GB space variant. Lets meet the K5 Note 2018.
Design
The device sports a Metal overall unibody that’s quite attractive and sleek. It’s the kind of device you can hold and flaunt when out and about. The dual antenna lines brings out the very best of the design, the lines always make smartphones look amazing.
The dual shooters sits at the top antenna line to the left in a horizontal format, while the LED flash sits beside it. There’s a fingerprint scanner at the rear for quick access to the device. It measures 8.5mm in thickness and weighs 176g, this is light enough to operate with one hand. It’s available in Black, Gold and Blue colors.
Display
If there’s one thing Lenovo’s recent smartphones have in common, it’s their screens. Even though, the K5 Note 2018 and A5 doesn’t come with the trending notch, their 18:9 aspect ratio screens isn’t that bad either, there are no side bezels whatsoever.
The 2018 version of the K5 Note boasts of a taller 6-inch HD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 720 x 1440 pixels in resolution. The screen might not be as sharp as the one on the A5 with just 268 pixel per inch density, but the screen stretches up to 76.5% of the front.
Hardware and Software
The Snapdragon 450 chip here didn’t come to play, it has an Octa-Core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The 8-Cores of processor here reaches a fast speed of 1.8GHz with 14nm process technology. While the Adreno 506 graphics processor controls graphics.
There are two variants in terms of RAM and Internal storage. The standard version comes with 64GB storage and 4GB of RAM, while a cheaper variant for those on a budget has 32GB storage and 3GB RAM. Both storage variant are upgradeable up to 256GB. The Lenovo K5 Note 2018 runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with ZUI 3.9.
Camera
The 16MP + 2MP rear shooter has f/2.0 and f/2.4 aperture respectively. The 16MP camera has PDAF, while the 2MP secondary camera is a fixed focus sensor with depth sensing and no AF. Features that comes with the camera includes phase detection autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama and HDR. You can shoot videos of 1080p@30fps. While the 8MP selfie shooter has f/2.0 aperture, allowing more light in.
Battery
Powering the Lenovo K5 Note 2018 is a 3760mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% shouldn’t take up to 2.2 hours.
