Lenovo Tab 3 with 8 inch display and 4290mAh battery review

Lenovo is a Chinese-American company that is renowned for manufacturing various electronic devices like smartphones, tablets, PCs, laptops, smartphones, tablets, Music systems and so on. Way back in 2014, Lenovo purchased Motorola from Google as a way of expanding their brand and improve acceptance in the United States. Lenovo operates in over 60 countries but its products are available worldwide. The company announced the Lenovo Tab 3-850F (Lenovo Tab 3) sometime in February, and today, we bring you the review of the “smart” tablet.

DESIGN

Lenovo Tab 3

The Lenovo Tab 3 has an appearance that resembles that of a rectangular slab. No doubt, Lenovo churns out beautiful looking devices be it laptop or smartphone. The Tab 3 is no different. The tablet has rounded edges and a thin dark blue and light blue borders the black and white colour variant of the Tab 3 respectively.

The Lenovo Tab 3 is made of plastic throughout. Nevertheless, it still manages to provides a medium for solid and firm grip. The plastic body covering is also advantageous as it makes the Tab 3 as lightweight as possible.

The rear/back cover is appealing to the eye. The minimalistic design coupled with the rough texture makes it a joy to hold. I personally love the locations of the rear camera as well as the SIM and SD card slot.

The SIM cards and micro SD card are enclosed under a blue rectangular cover with the Lenovo imprint on it.

DISPLAY

The Lenovo Tab 3 has a high quality 8-inch HD IPS display. The display has a resolution of 1280×800 pixels that offers good colour and image reproduction.Lenovo Tab 3

That’s not all on the display, Lenovo took an extra step to make users’ visual experience on the Tab 3 as flawless as it can be. On the Tab 3, there is a special software that can filter out blue light. This in turn offers protection to the eyes against reflection from excessive sunlight during outdoor usage.

PROCESSOR & OS

Lenovo Tab 3

The Lenovo Tab 3 is powered by a Quad-core MediaTek MTK8161 chipset. The processor has a clock processing speed of 1GHz. Though the processor is not all that efficient (as it is somewhat old school), it still perform well enough and also consumes less power.

The Tab 3 has 1GB of RAM, 16GB in-built storage space and can be extended to up to 64GB using Micro SD card. Additionally, it runs on the Android v6.0 Marshmallow platform.

CAMERA

Lenovo Tab 3

In the camera department, the Lenovo Tab 3 is not much of a stunner. The rear camera is capped at 5 megapixels while the front 2 megapixels camera handles selfie, video calls and other functions averagely.

BATTERY

The Tab 3 is powered by a non-removable 4290mAh Li-ion battery. The battery pack can be recharged by a V/2.5A AC adapter that comes with the device. The battery has no Quick charge technology but shouldn’t take long to get a full charge. According to Lenovo, the battery is enough to keep the Lenovo Tab 3 up and running for a period of 8 hours. This is enough for a tablet of its kind.
