The LG V30S ThinQ was announced yesterday as an update to the LG V30. The 2018 Mobile World Congress is upon us, new devices are emerging and LG didn’t want to be left out. The device got the name ThinQ because of its new Artificial Intelligence which is LG’s first. Without further ado, meet the LG V30S ThinQ.

Design
A beauty to behold and hold, the V30S ThinQ was made from Aluminium Alloy and covered exquisitely in Glass. The dual rear camera are side by side at the top middle in horizontal format, as the dual-LED flash sits right beside them. It comes with a rear fingerprint scanner because obviously there’s no space in the front for that.
The V30S ThinQ engraving is visible at the middle, with the LG logo at the bottom corner. It sports a MIL-STD-810G overall body protection offering dust and scratch resistant. Turning over to the side, it measures 7.4 mm slim and weighs 158g overall. It’s available in only Blue and Gray colors, which is breathtaking to look at.
Display
It’s bezel-less just like its predecessor, reaching 81.44% screen to body ratio. The bezels are almost invisible though, but nevertheless the top bezel still houses the selfie camera, tiny speaker grille and light sensor (LED Notifications). Lets take a moment to appreciate the 6-Inch QHD P-OLED capacitive touchscreen.
It boasts of 2880 x 1440 pixels in resolution and 537 pixel per inch density. With the V30S ThinQ, watching movies and playing games should be quite a pleasure. Protecting the 3D screen is a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 which offers scratch resistant. It has the Dolby Vision technology, HDR10 compliant, Always On display and VR Support, with 148% sRGB and 109% DCI-P3.
Hardware and Software
Under the hood is the Snapdragon 835 MSM8998 chip from Qualcomm with Octa-core processor. The processor reaches a maximum speed of 2.45 GHz, with 64-bit CPU architecture and 10nm process technology. The Adreno 540 graphics processor is totally in charge of graphics and clocks at 710 MHz.
For smooth multitasking, it comes with 6GB RAM and reaches a memory speed of 1.866 GHz to handle heavy apps. In terms of storage, there are two versions, one with 128GB and the V30S ThinQ Plus with 256GB storage. You can expand the storage space up to 2TB using a memory card. The smartphone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system with LG’s UX 6.0+ user interface.
Camera
Explore your photography potential with the 16MP (f/1.6 aperture) + 13MP (f/1.9 aperture) dual shooters. Both camera boasts of EIS & DIS Sensor, contrast autofocus, OIS, 3-Axis, Laser & Phase Detection among other quality features. The 16MP comes with a 1.0 um pixel size and 71° degree wide lens, while the 13MP comes with 1.0 um pixel size and 140° degree wide lens.
The dual shooters can capture 4K resolution images and videos, with photographs boasting of 4608 x 3456 pixels. Record videos of 2160 pixels at 30 frames per second, and 720 pixels at 60 frames per second. The 5MP selfie camera boasts of f/2.2 aperture, 90° wide angle lens, face recognition and 1.12 um pixel size.
Battery
Powering the LG V30S ThinQ up is a 3300mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with Qi wireless charging and fast charging feature.
