Meizu 15 Plus VS Meizu 15 – Why you should go for the Meizu 15 Plus

Meizu 15 Plus VS Meizu 15 – Why you should go for the Meizu 15 Plus. Meizu has just released Meizu 15 Plus, Meizu 15 and Meizu 15 Lite. The Chinese OEM company might not be as popular like “Xiaomi” or “Huawei”, but they still have a good fan base in China and the world. Meizu is currently the 11th largest smartphone manufacturer in the world. In 2015, the company sold over 20 million units. The Meizu 15 and Meizu 15 Plus are mid-range phones featuring some top-notch features.

The Meizu 15 Plus is the advanced version of the Meizu 15. Which means it should feature more advanced specs than the Meizu 15. But is the advanced specs really worth it for customers to go for the Plus version? Or they should just stick with the Meizu 15? This article will be comparing the specifications and features of the Meizu 15 and Meizu 15 Plus. Let’s see what Meizu upgraded in the Meizu 15 Plus.

Meizu didn’t change anything on the design of the Meizu 15 Plus and Meizu 15 (front glass with an aluminum unibody). They both measure the same 7.3mm in thickness. Though the Meizu 15 Plus is taller and wider to the Meizu 15. Also, you can tell a difference when you hold both smartphones. The Meizu 15 Plus weighs 177 grams which is heavier to the Meizu 15 that weighs 152 grams.

The dual rear camera and LED flash are mounted at the top-middle on both devices. They both feature a home button which houses the fingerprint sensor. The Meizu 15 Plus comes in Gray, Yakin and Ink body colors. While the Meizu 15 comes in Yakin, Ink, Indigo and White body colors.

Meizu 15 Plus VS Meizu 15 – The Display

The Meizu 15 Plus and Meizu 15 sports a 16:9 aspect ratio. With no bezels at the sides and minimal bezels at the top and bottom. It’s hard to see a mid-range smartphone with an AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, let alone a Super AMOLED screen. Meizu did an amazing job right there. Both the Meizu 15 Plus and Meizu 15 features the Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen. A touchscreen mostly used by high-end smartphones.

The Meizu 15 Plus has a display screen size of 5.95 inches. And a display resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels with 494 PPI density. While on the Meizu 15 is a 5.46-inch screen with 1080 x 1920 pixels and 403 PPI density.

Meizu 15 Plus VS Meizu 15 – The Camera

Unlike the display department where the Meizu 15 Plus offers more. The camera department sees the Meizu 15 having the same camera specs like the Meizu 15 Plus. Their dual rear camera sports a resolution of 12MP f/1.8 aperture and 20MP. While for selfies, the front camera comes with a resolution of a 20MP f/2.0 aperture.

Meizu 15 Plus VS Meizu 15 – Hardware and Software

The Meizu 15 Plus and Meizu 15 are powered by different chipset. Don’t really know if that’s a good idea from Meizu. The Meizu 15 Plus comes with Exynos 8895 chipset. While the Meizu 15 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset. The Exynos 8895 chipset is owned by Samsung. And the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Note 8 were the only models to run on that chipset. According to AnTuTu Benchmark results, the Exynos 8895 chipset outperformed the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset.

Both smartphones run on Android 7.1.2 Nougat with Flyme UI 7.0 skin. Think Meizu could have done better with the software here. At least let the Meizu 15 Plus run on Android 8.0 Oreo. Well, the Meizu 15 comes with a 4GB memory size and either 64GB or 128GB internal storage. While the Meizu 15 Plus comes with a bigger 6GB memory size with either 64GB or 128GB storage.
