Meizu 15 VS Meizu 15 Lite – Why the Meizu 15 Lite offers value for money. After much speculation and even leaked images of the Meizu 15. The smartphone is finally here alongside Meizu 15 Lite and Meizu 15 Plus. The smartphones were named “15” in order to celebrate the company’s 15th anniversary. The Meizu 15 Plus was rumored to have a full-screen display with no bezel on all four sides of the phone. Well, the three versions have the same display type, which is no side bezels and minimal bezels at the top and bottom of the screen. There is a small home button where the fingerprint sensor is embedded.

While the Meizu 15 Plus have bigger screen size. The Meizu 15 and Meizu 15 Lite have the same screen size. And they both will be the focus of this article. What features were removed/reduced in the Meizu 15 Lite? Or there isn’t much difference between the Meizu 15 and the Meizu 15 Lite. I have already talked about the differences and similarities between the Meizu 15 Plus and Meizu 15.

The three versions (Meizu 15, 15 Lite and 15 Plus) have the same body design featuring a front glass with an aluminum unibody. The difference between the Meizu 15 and Meizu 15 Lite in design is the rear camera. The Meizu 15 houses a rear dual camera. While the Meizu 15 Lite houses a single rear camera. The Meizu 15 measures 7.3mm thickness and weighs 152 grams. While Meizu 15 Lite measures 7.5mm thickness and weighs 145 grams.

The Meizu 15 Lite comes in a simple Black, Gold and Red body colors. While Indigo, White, Yakin and Ink body colors are available for the Meizu 15. The bottom bezel on both phones features the home button. Which is where the fingerprint sensor is mounted.

Meizu 15 VS Meizu 15 Lite – The Display

Even though the Meizu 15 and Meizu 15 Lite features the same 5.46-inch screen size. They both have different types of touchscreen. On the Meizu 15 is a more advanced and better Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen. While on the Meizu 15 Lite is the IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. In the display resolution, there isn’t any difference. The Meizu 15 and 15 Lite sports a 1080 x 1920 pixels with 16:9 ratio aspect ratio and 403 PPI density.

The Meizu 15 Lite rear camera lens houses a resolution of 12 megapixels with f/1.9 aperture. While the Meizu 15 camera lens comes with a resolution of 12 megapixels with f/1.8 aperture and 20 megapixels. At the front camera, they both have the same resolution of 20 megapixels with f/2.0 aperture.

The Meizu 15 packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset which carries 8-cores processor reaching a speed of 2.2GHz. While the Meizu 15 Lite houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 chipset carrying an 8-core processor which clocks at 2.2GHz. The Snapdragon 660 chipset support Quick charge 4.0 while the 626 chipset supports Quick charge 3.0.

Running on both the Meizu 15 and 15 Lite is Android 7.1.2 Nougat with Meizu’s Flyme UI 7.0 skin. The Meizu 15 Lite comes in only a 4GB RAM with 64GB ROM. While the Meizu 15 with a 4GB RAM has two internal storage variants of 64GB and 128GB.

They both pack the same non-removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery. Though they have different version of fast battery charging. The Meizu 15’s version is better thanks to its chipset.

Meizu 15 VS Meizu 15 Lite – The Price

The Meizu 15 Lite will be available for around $270 (N94,500). While the Meizu 15 is sold for about $481 (N168,350). Although the Meizu 15 has better specs than the Meizu 15 Lite. The Meizu 15 Lite is still value considering what it’s offering for a relatively cheap price.
