Meizu M5c Android Smartphone Review, Specs And Price

Meizu is one of the biggest Chinese tech brands and a well known one at that outside and inside China. It has a wide range of products that cut across all price segments. This idea has made the smartphone making company grown to be the 11th largest mobile phone maker in the world when it comes to unit sale.  It has a number of smartphone line, up to about three which are the M-series, Pro and MX series, the series include the likes of M5s, M5s Note, Pro 6 Plus and M3 Max. Unlike its other high-end devices like the Pro 6 Plus, the Meizu M5c is aimed at people who are looking to obtain a mid ranged quality Android device without having to part with a large amount of money.

One of its latest smartphones is the Meizu M5c which is aimed solely at the international scene. This is because is it has added 800Mhz 4G LTE connectivity which translates into a broader and better data coverage anywhere in the world. This is bigger than it sounds and separates from other phones that are only able to achieve 3G networks due to the lack of band 20 support. Also included among the international market prerequisite is the Flyme 6 user interface based on the Android 7 Nougat OS.

DESIGN AND DISPLAY

Unlike most devices that sports a metal build the Meizu M5c is made of a polycarbonate material. This gives a more premium build and feels more comfortable in your hands. Compared to phones having a glass or metal build it is less slick and has a more firm grip. The polycarbonate also transmits heat less readily than metal which means there is a lesser likelihood of the phone getting hot during extreme use like watching high-quality movies or playing a game.

Regarding design, things are kept pretty basic which all the more adds to its charm. On the right side, there is the volume rocker and the power button while on the left there is the sim tray. At the top of the device there is the 3.5mm audio jack, and at the bottom, you have the single speaker, microphone along with the USB port. The back of the device is home to the rear camera and the LED flash. However, there is no fingerprint sensor which is one of the downsides of the device.

On the front, there is the mBack button that serves as the home button and the back button. The dimension is at 144 x 70.5 x 8.3mm and is available in different colour variants which are red, gold, black, pink and blue. Weighing about 135g which is very much okay and one of its light models. It features a 5-inch 1280 x 720 HD screen.

CPU, OS AND STORAGE

Meizu is staying light on this one with a 2GB RAM and a MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor that clocks at 1.3GHz alongside a Mali-T720 MP1 GPU. The internal memory is at 16GB and can be expanded to 128GB using a microSD card. It runs a Flyme OS based on Android 7 OS.

BATTERY AND CAMERA

The Meizu M5c has a battery capacity of 3000mAh which gives about 8-9 hours of on screen time. On the other hand, there is an 8MP back camera and a 5MP front camera.
