Micromax Bharat 5 Plus with 5000mAh Battery – Review, Full Specs and Price

Indian based company Micromax released an update to the Bharat 5, which was launched in December. The new Bharat 5 Plus comes with much RAM space and better rear camera than its predecessor. The Bharat 5 Plus is a midrange smartphone for the middle class individual. The company always targets the low class people in the Indian market and those on a budget. Without further ado, lets take a thorough look at this long lasting beast with 5000mAh battery.

Design

It sports a simple look and a smooth overall unibody with curved edges as well. It isn’t their flagship though so i wasn’t expecting much details in design. Their Canvas Infinity smartphone was beautiful with bezel-less screen, but the Bharat 5 Plus is disappointing to say the least.

The design is very plain, with the the rear camera and LED Flash at the top left in a vertical position. It has no fingerprint scanner unlike their Canvas Infinity smartphone. Additionally, the device is very bulky, measuring 9.8 mm in thickness and weighs 170g. No surprises here though, it houses a 5000mAh non-removable battery. The dual sim compatible smartphone is available in only Black, which is rampant these days.

Display

The bezels on this phone could give me a headache, even the narrow bezels came out to play. It sports three navigation buttons at the bottom bezel, while the selfie camera and LED Flash sits pretty at the top. Released in a year when midrange smartphones are going bezel-less, this is very disappointing.

However, lets forget about the huge bezels and focus on the screen. The 5.2-inch capacitive touchscreen is better than some midrange out there. Boasting of 720 x 1280 pixels in resolution and 282 pixel per inch density. Reaching just 67.8% screen-to-body ratio, the display won’t be that impressive, but its worth the money.

Hardware and Software

Under the hood is the Mediatek MT6737 chipset with Quad-core processor clocking at 1.3 GHz. The smartphone won’t be that fast overall, but it won’t slow down frequently too. The graphics processor in charge is quite unknown at this time, but i’m pretty sure its Mali.

For multitasking, it comes with 2GB RAM space which is better than the 1GB on its predecessor. For storage, it boasts of 16GB internal storage space which is upgradeable to 64GB. So you can save more apps and games or even movies with the help of a memory card. Micromax Bharat 5 Plus runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.

Camera

According to the company, the rear camera has been improved for a more brilliant photography. The 8MP rear camera is sharper than the one on its predecessor, with amazing features. Its LED flash beside it, would also help especially in low light environment.

The selfie camera is a 5MP shooter with a LED Flash as well. The flash will help take quality photos in low light areas, dark places and nightclubs.

Battery

This is the highlight of the smartphone, a powerful 5000mAh powerhouse that could last for days. The Li-Po battery is non-removable and should last for 3 days with light usage.
