Micromax Canvas 2 2018 has been launched as the company’s latest smartphone. The India based OEM released the device as the successor to the Canvas 1 2018. The Canvas 2 2018 brings along the Full Vision Display with it.
Apart from the 18:9 aspect ratio screen, the device targets those on a budget, just like most smartphones from the company. There’s 2GB of RAM, 16GB ROM, Face ID and a massive 4000mAh battery. Lets find out more.
Design
The device has a combination of Metal and Plastic at the rear, this makes it so comfortable to hold and operate with just a single hand. At the top left, the Canvas 2 2018 houses a vertical foundation that flows with the current trend.
We can see the rear camera and the LED flash underneath, then the fingerprint scanner is aldo present just in case you don’t like the Face ID. It supports dual Nano SIMs and 4G LTE, it was launched in Black, no words if other colors will be released as well.
Display
Experience a display that delights you with the Canvas 2 2018, it dishes out sharper and brighter visuals with its 18:9 aspect ratio screen. The bezels are also very minimal, especially the narrow ones, this lets you enjoy taller visuals in landscape mode.
The tall 5.7inch HD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen is perfect for big screen lovers. It has the standard resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and 282 pixel per inch density, ensuring clear visuals. There’s a 2.5D curved glass on top for protection.
Hardware and Software
The MediaTek MT6737T chip takes control underneath, although it was on a 28nm process technology, so power efficiency might not be that great. It has 4-Cores of processor which clocks at a smooth speed of 1.45GHz offering a smooth ride. The ARM Mali-T720 MP2 graphics card here clocks at 600 MHz with 2-Cores.
It has just a fast 2GB of RAM for multitasking and a memory speed of 733MHz. While for storage, there’s a standard space of 16GB available. You can upgrade up to 128GB with a memory card anytime you want. The Micromax Canvas 2 2018 runs smoothly on Android 7.0 Nougat with modified user interface.
Camera
The 13MP rear shooter at the rear has f/2.0 aperture, 1.12um Pixel Size, 80° FOV, beauty mode, time lapse, watermark, LED flash and lots of other features. While the 8MP selfie camera has f/2.0 aperture as well, with beauty mode, portrait mode, selfie flash, 80° FOV and support for Face ID.
Battery
Powering the Micromax Canvas 2 2018 is a 4000mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with no fast charging technology. Without the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% might take up to 3 hours.
