When news broke of Nokia’s desire to venture into the Android smartphone market, the mobile world was left in a frenzy, and the atmosphere got even better when the Nokia 3310 was reported to be staging a comeback. Now, months after, reports from Nokia have it that the stage is all set for its new phones to surface. The company has confirmed that its new devices will hit the global market in May-June this year.
Following the release of a movie-themed video on Youtube and several social platforms in which the Nokia 3310(2017), Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 phones featured, the company was left answering to questions from users who wanted to be well informed regarding the availability of the aforementioned phones.
Via its Official Twitter handle, the company while replying to a question from one of its users said, “We will be launching globally in the coming months(May-June). Stay tuned for updates!”. The company also said that it was aiming to launch the Nokia phones worldwide in the second-quarter of the year in response to a query from a twitter user who asked if the new Nokia phones would be launched in Brazil.
HMD Global has also began to tease an unveiling of the latest Nokia phones in India and an invite has been making the rounds for Monday which many see as the day when launch plans for India for the devices would be made known to the public.
At this year’s Mobile World Congress, the prices of the respective Nokia phones was announced with the Nokia 6 said to be priced at Rs.16,000(EUR 229), the Nokia 5 at Rs. 13,250(EUR 189), the Nokia 3 at Rs. 9,750(EUR 139) and the Nokia 3310(2017) at Rs. 3,500(EUR 49). Remember that earlier this month, HMD Global came out to announce that all new Nokia phones would be launched in 120 countries in this quarter at affordable prices.
