Design
Design-wise, the OnePlus 6 got a major revamp in that department. It has an aluminium alloy overall unibody and an aluminium frame as well. There’s a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 at the back as well for protection, the glass also adds a sleek vibe to it.
Compared to the 5T, the OnePlus houses its dual rear shooters at the top middle in a vertical position. While the LED flash comes underneath before the fingerprint scanner and the OnePlus logo. It measures 7.8mm in thickness, weighs 177g and available in Midnight Black, Mirror Black and a limited edition Silk White.
Display
The OnePlus 6 is the company’s first smartphone with the trending notched screen. With the screen, you get a 19:9 aspect ratio with the notch turned ON and an 18:9 aspect with notch turned OFF. The bottom chin came out to play as well, just like we saw on most flagships.
The tall 6.28-inch (with the notch) Optic AMOLED capacitive touchscreen boasts of 1080 x 2280 pixels in resolution and displays amazing visuals. With its 402 pixel per inch density, you will enjoy the details on the screen, there’s a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top as well with support for DCI-P3 and sRGB.
Hardware and Software
The Snapdragon 845 chip from Qualcomm takes charge here, the chip was built on a 10nm process technology. It has 8-cores of processor which clocks at a fast speed of 2.8GHz. The Adreno 630 graphics processor reigns supreme in the graphics department.
The beast with 8GB of RAM has two storage variants you can choose from. There’s one with 128GB storage and a more expensive variant with 256GB storage. There’s a cheaper variant that has 6GB of RAM and 64GB storage as well. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with Oxygen OS 5.1.8 on top
Camera
OnePlus smartphones are famous for their photography prowess and the OnePlus 6 won’t be disappointing. It sports a dual 16MP + 20MP rear shooters, the first 16MP on top has f/1.7 aperture, 27mm lens, 1/2.6″ sensor size, 1.22µm pixel size, gyro-EIS and OIS. While the 20MP shooter underneath has f/1.7 aperture, 1/2.8″ sensor size and 1.0µm pixel size.
Other features on the camera includes phase detection autofocus, dual-LED flash (underneath), touch focus, face detection, HDR, panorama and others. It shoots 4K videos @60fps, 2K videos @240fps and 720p videos @480fps. While the 16MP selfie camera has f/2.0 aperture, 25mm lens, 1/3″ sensor size, 1.0µm pixel size, gyro-EIS and Auto HDR.
Battery
Powering the OnePlus 6 is a 3300mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% shouldn’t take up to 1.6 hours.
