One of these companies constantly in the news is Chinese phone maker Oppo. They have two new budget smartphones in the market; the Oppo A5 and Oppo A3s.
The A-series was launched earlier this year and it already has about five smartphones. Both the Oppo A5 and Oppo A3s features a huge 4,230 mAh battery capacity, which is one of their highlights. This article is a detailed comparison between the Oppo A3s and Oppo A5.
Oppo A3s VS Oppo A5 – The Design
The design of the Oppo A5 is similar to the Oppo A3s. While some users refer the Oppo A3s as a stripped version of the Oppo A5. There is actually a smartphone called Oppo A3, so we can’t tell for sure. Both Oppo phones feature a top-notch with a bottom bezel. The back of the Oppo A5 has a triangular cut pattern like we saw on the Oppo Realme 1. While the back of the Oppo A3s is plain. The Oppo A3s and A5 weigh the same 168 grams and measure 8.2 mm in thickness.
Moving to the back, there’s no fingerprint sensor on both phones. They both feature a dual rear camera with LED flash and the Oppo brand name at the center. The dual rear camera is at the top left corner placed in a horizontal direction. The Oppo A3s is only available in Red and Dark Purple body colors. While the Oppo A5 is available in Blue and Pink body colors.

Both the Oppo A3s and Oppo A5 features a 6.2 inch IPS LCD touchscreen with an 81.2% screen-to-body ratio. Their display packs a 720 x 1520 pixels resolution and 271 pixels per inch density. With the top-notch on both phones, they feature a 19:9 aspect ratio display.

The hardware department isn’t left behind also as both Oppo smartphones are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset. The chipset comes with an Octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz and Adreno 506 graphics processing unit.

Running on both the Oppo A3s and Oppo A5 is ColorOS 5.1 user interface, which is overlaid on Android 8.1 Oreo. The memory with internal storage option is where the real difference. The Oppo A5 is available in only a 4GB memory with 64GB internal storage. Whereas, the Oppo A3s is available in only a 2GB memory with 16GB internal storage.
