Oppo F5 Youth to be released soon. See specification details and price

Following the announcement of its latest flagship smartphone, the Oppo F5 which will be officially released on the 16th of November, 2016, the Chinese Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) has announced that the device will be having another version tagged the “Oppo F5 Youth”.

One thing Oppo did really well over the last 2 months was to tease her fans and user with details of an upcoming flagship. Even before then, rumoured and leaked specifications of the device did blow us away. And now that the amazing official specifications of the Oppo F5 have been released, I’m pretty sure that for some, the ecstasy to own this device has upped than it previously was.

Oppo F5 Youth

The Oppo F5 Youth is more like a “Lite” or “Mini” version of the Oppo F5. But to a very large extent, one may be forced to think that the two devices are a sort of “twin” or something due to the numerous features they have both have in common.

The Oppo F5 and Oppo F5 Youth both come with a large 2.5D curved display with top quality and Corning Gorilla Glass protection; a 6.0 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, the same 1080 by 2160 pixels resolution and 402 ppi pixel density. Likewise, both devices run on the same Android v7.0 Nougat OS, have the same design and dimensions, and are powered by a non-removable 4,000 mAh battery.

In a nutshell, the only 3 features differentiating the Oppo F5 Youth from the Oppo F5 are the storage capacities, the  System-on-Chip, and the optics. The Oppo F5 Youth comes with a toned down 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory (as opposed to the Oppo F5’s 6GB and 64 GB respectively). Also the Oppo F5 Youth uses a 16 megapixels sensor as its main camera while that on the Oppo F5 is 20 megapixels. On the front, both devices sport a dual 12MP + 12MP camera for capturing the best selfie photos.

Lastly, the Oppo F5 comes with the latest version of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor, Snapdragon 835. The soon-to-be released Oppo F5 Youth uses a much less efficient Snapdragon 625 chipset.

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY

Another important differentiating feature of the two devices is the price. The Oppo F5 costs approximately $405 to be the more expensive smartphone of the pair while the Oppo F5 Youth costs approximately $330.
