The smartphone world has just received new fresh air with Chinese phone maker and BBK subsidiary Oppo coming out with the Oppo Find X. The company’s flagship is the successor to the Oppo Find 7. With most smartphones these days featuring same design and specs, I think it’s a relief to actually witness true innovation. Oppo joins their fellow BBK brother Vivo in releasing a smartphone with a pop-up camera. Could this be a new trend in the smartphone world? I actually think the notch display is phasing out and the pop-up camera is the new trend.
Along with the Oppo Find X, Oppo teamed up with carmaker Lamborghini to release the Oppo Find X Lamborghini Edition. And one of the highlights of the Lamborghini edition is the SuperVOOC fast charge, which Oppo claims can charge from 0% to 100% within 35 minutes. Oppo Find X VS Oppo Find X Lamborghini Edition – The Design
The design of the Oppo Find X and the Lamborghini edition are somewhat similar. The only difference is at the back, where the Lamborghini edition features a rough carbon fiber back with a 3D Lamborghini logo while the Oppo Find X features a plain back. Aside from that, they both feature a front and back corning gorilla glass with aluminum frame. They measure the same 9.4mm in thickness, which is somewhat bulky and weighs 186 grams.
There’s no fingerprint sensor on both smartphones but you get to use the 3D face identification technology for biometric security. The Oppo Find X is available in Bordeaux Red and Glacier Blue body colors. While the Oppo Find X Lamborghini edition is available in only Black body color.

The display is the same on both devices. There’s no top-notch, no bezels and a rather small bottom chin. Both the Oppo Find X and Oppo Find X Lamborghini edition sports a 6.42 inch AMOLED panel, an 87% screen-to-body ratio, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution and 401 pixels per inch density. The screen-to-body ratio of both smartphones is probably one of the biggest in the market right now, one of its challenges will be the Vivo NEX S.

The camera is one of the major selling points of the two smartphones as they are AI-enhanced. The camera isn’t visible to the eyes until you open the camera app, which pop-up a mechanism slider that houses the front and back camera. There’s also 3D and IR sensors for secure facial recognition on the mechanism slider. The camera specs of the Oppo Find X is the same as on the Lamborghini edition.
The dual rear camera of both smartphones consist of a 16MP primary sensor, 20MP secondary sensor and dual-LED dual-tone flash, both sensors features a f/2.0 aperture. The 16MP primary sensor sports PDAF, OIS, 1/ 2.6” sensor size and 1.22um pixels size. While the 20MP secondary sensor sports 1/ 2.8 sensor size and 1.0um pixels size. Going to the front camera is a 25MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture.
Oppo Find X VS Oppo Find X Lamborghini Edition – Hardware and Software
Powering both the Oppo Find X and the Lamborghini edition is Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset with 8GB memory, an Adreno 630 graphics processing unit and Octa-core processor that clocks at 2.8GHz.
Another difference between both smartphones is their internal storage capacity and there’s no memory card slot. The Oppo Find X comes with a 256GB internal storage while the Lamborghini edition comes with a 512GB internal storage. They both run on Android 8.1 Oreo with ColorOS 5.1 user interface on top.

The Oppo Find X packs a non-removable Li-lon 3730 mAh battery with VOOC flash charge 5V/4A. While the Oppo Find X Lamborghini edition features a non-removable Li-lon 3400 mAh battery with SuperVOOC flash charge 5V/10A 50W. Thanks to the SuperVOOC flash charge, the Lamborghini edition can charge from 0% to 100% within 35 minutes.
Oppo Find X VS Oppo Find X Lamborghini Edition – The Price
The Oppo Find X will be sold for around $1,167 (N408,450) while the Lamborghini edition goes for about $1,983 (N694,050). Seriously I feel the Lamborghini edition is overpriced and no smartphone should go close to the $2,000 mark. The major difference is the battery capacity with SuperVOOC flash charge and 512GB internal storage. The Oppo Find X still features VOOC flash charge with 256GB which I think is great even for heavy users.
