Oppo Find X VS Vivo NEX S – flagship smartphones with pop-up cameras. Oppo and Vivo both share the same parent company; BBK Electronics, which is why their smartphones look similar. Well, they’ve succeed in bringing something new to the market. It’s good to see Chinese phone makers coming with innovations. Before they (Chinese companies) used to focus on cloning Apple and Samsung smartphones. During the 2018 Mobile World Congress, Vivo showcased a concept apex smartphone with a pop-up front camera.
At first, it looked like they were never going to actually manufacture one. But against all odds, the company released the Vivo NEX S and the Vivo NEX A smartphones with the pop-up camera. And now Oppo has gone a step further with their new Oppo Find X. The smartphone features a pop-up front and back camera. So in this article, I’ll be comparing the Oppo Find X and Vivo NEX S. A lot of people are actually indecisive on which smartphone to buy between the two devices. This article is definitely for you if you fall into that category.
Oppo Find X VS Vivo NEX S – The Design
From the front view of both smartphones, they very much the same since they feature a full screen display with tiny bottom chin. Though the bottom chin of the Vivo NEX S is slightly bigger to that of the Oppo Find X. Moving over to the back, the Vivo NEX S packs a dual rear camera aligned in a vertical direction at the top left corner. While there’s nothing at the back of the Oppo Find X aside from its name. The dual rear camera of the Oppo Find X also pop-up with the front camera.
The Vivo NEX S features an in-display fingerprint sensor while the Oppo Find X has no fingerprint sensor, it, however, features a 3D face recognition technology similar to that of the iPhone X.
The Vivo NEX S weighs 199 grams and measures 8 mm thick while the Oppo Find X weighs 186 grams with 9.4 mm in thickness. In terms of body colors, the Oppo Find X comes in Bordeaux Red and Glacier Blue colors while the Vivo NEX S comes in Black and Red colors.
Oppo Find X VS Vivo NEX S – The Display
Both smartphones come with great display specs. They both pack an AMOLED panel with the Vivo NEX S having a slight edge in the screen technology thanks to its Super AMOLED panel. The Oppo Find X packs a 6.42-inch screen size, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, an 87% screen-to-body ratio, 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution and 401 PPI density. While the Vivo NEX S packs a 6.59-inch screen size, 19.3:9 aspect ratio, an 86% screen-to-body ratio, 1080 x 2316 pixels resolution and 388 PPI density.
Oppo Find X VS Vivo NEX S – The Camera
This where the Oppo Find X is far better than the Vivo NEX S. The dual rear camera of the Vivo NEX S packs a 12MP primary sensor and a 5MP secondary sensor. The primary sensor features a f/1.8 aperture, 1/ 2.5” sensor size, 1.4um and Dual pixel PDAF while the secondary sensor features f/2.4 aperture and 4-axis OIS. On the Oppo Find X is a dual rear camera consisting of a 16MP primary sensor with f/2.0 aperture and a 20MP secondary with f/2.0 aperture. The primary sensor features 1/ 2.6” sensor size, 1.22um pixel size, PDAF, and OIS while the secondary sensor features 1/ 2.8” sensor size and 1.0um pixels size.
Their dual rear camera features a dual-LED dual-tone flash. For selfies, you get a 25MP pop-up front camera with f/2.0 aperture on the Oppo Find X while the Vivo NEX S comes with an 8MP pop-up front camera and f/2.0 aperture.
Oppo Find X VS Vivo NEX S – Hardware and Software
Under the hood of both the Oppo Find X and Vivo NEX S is Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset with 8GB memory, an 8-core processor, and Adreno 630 graphics processing unit. The 8-cores processor on the Oppo Find X clocks at 2.8GHz while that of the Vivo NEX S clocks at 2.7GHz. The Vivo NEX S comes in two internal storage options; 128GB and 256GB. While the Oppo Find X has only the 256GB internal storage option. The two smartphones run on Android 8.1 Oreo with the Oppo Find X featuring ColorOS 5.1 user interface on top while the Vivo NEX S features Funtouch OS 4.0 user interface on top.
Oppo Find X VS Vivo NEX S – The Battery
The Vivo NEX S comes with a non-removable Li-lon 4000 mAh battery with fast battery charge 22W while the Oppo Find X comes with a non-removable Li-lon 3730 mAh battery with VOOC flash charge 5V/4A.
Oppo Find X VS Vivo NEX S – The Price
The Oppo Find X will be sold for about $1,167 (N408,450) while the Vivo NEX S goes for about $817 (N285,950). The Vivo NEX S came up short mainly in the camera department and probably the no face ID support. But overall, it offers the better quality-price ratio
than the Oppo Find X.
