Oppo Reno2 5G Quick Review, Specs/Features & Price

It is clear that Oppo too is in the 5G network race with Reno2 5G. Recall that the company has released Reno2 and Reno2 Z as well but we are more interested in the 5G smartphone in this quick review. At this point, the phone is receiving a good review from commentators and fans alike but only a small section of areas in the world is 5G compatible. Whether you can buy it and use as 4G for now while you upgrade to 5G seems feasible although I can’t tell just how possible that is.

Design and Display of Oppo Reno2 5G

When you look at the body of this phone it looks like the Reno2 somehow but as you can see, this is a 5G smartphone that has its own distinct features. Features reveal that this smartphone will come in black, pale pink and blue colors which we feel does justice to the mobile device. Many people love red phones too. While there is no indication of waterproof technology in the device, we see that the dimensions are 76.6 x 161.8 x 9.5 mm. It weighs just 215 grams and I think that’s a little too bulky.

The display also shows on-cell AMOLED type; 6.6 inches of capacitive touchscreen of 16 million colors. 1080 x 2340 pixel resolution is seen at the display, 396 ppi pixel density, Corning Gorilla Glass 6 and all impressive display features you can expect from a 5G phone.

Camera Features

We expect four cameras at the rear here in the Oppo Reno2 5G like the other ones. The most popular camera is the main camera which sits to the rear as a 48 MP and another 8 MP lenses. However, the selfie camera will come as 16 MP feature, enriched with components.

Hardware and Software

We find Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chipset and it comes with 64-bit technology, while the phone runs on Android OS v9.0 Pie. Furthermore, the device comes with the CPU known as Kryo 485, while the GPU is Qualcomm Adreno 640.

Storage Capacity and Sensors

Oppo Reno2 5G arrives with 8GB of RAM which can’t be expanded. At the internal storage side there is 256GB and that can be boosted externally with a microSD card. Sensors include fingerprint, accelerometer, compass, gravity, gyroscope, light, and proximity.

Network and Connectivity

It is also good to see that this phone still retains the 4G Android capacity although it is a 5G Android. Does it maintain 3G and 2G? Let’s wait and see but TENAA reviews say yes. Apart from the  4G Android phone running with high variant speeds of LTE, this phone is able to handle 5G on B41 2500, and B78 3500. Other components are Wi-Fi, hotspot, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, USB, headphone jack, and other features. This Reno2 5G mobile device is able to make use two nano SIM cards.

Pros

  • Excellent display
  • Nice camera features
  • Strong performance
  • 5G Android
  • Good battery

Cons

  • No wireless charging

Battery Power

Powering the Oppo Reno2 5G  is a non-removable Li-Po 4000 mAh battery. It comes without wireless charging but with VOOC Flash Charge 3.0 20W, signifying fast charging. This battery is able to provide power for 48 hours away from charging.

Price and Availability

Oppo Reno2 5G smartphone official price is not set yet because it has not been released. If it is released in the month of September 2019, then will expect that it will soon be shipping to various areas where there are 5G networks around the globe.
