Design
The body was designed Panasonic style, a simple looking smartphone with an attractive body. A plastic cover back with a metallic frame completes this affordable beauty. It’s disappointing it doesn’t come with a fingerprint scanner for quick access.
What’s going on at the top left corner? Well that’s a single camera not two, but the design might prank your friends to think it has dual shooters when taking mirror selfies. By the sides, it measures 9.1mm in thickness and weighs 145g overall. It’s available in only Dark Blue and Black colors.

I think it’s refreshing to see more budget smartphones with the trending full view display and Panasonic pulled through on the P101. Although there are still some visible bezels, but it’s still obvious the screen would be attractive in landscape mode.
The 5.45-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen might be massive and perfect for big screen lovers. But the details is nothing to write home about, with 480 x 960 pixels in resolution and 197 pixel per inch density. Regardless, the screen stretches up to 71.5% screen to body ratio.

Under the hood, the Mediatek MT6739WA chip dominates with Quad-core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The 4-cores of processor reaches the usual clock speed of 1.3GHz with 28nm process technology. While the PowerVR GE8100 graphics processor takes care of graphics.
A standard 2GB RAM space is available for light multitasking with a memory speed of 667MHz. For storing files, 16GB is available as well and you can easily upgrade up to 128GB using a memory card. The Panasonic P101 runs on Android 7.1 Nougat operating system.
Camera
Don’t be deceived by the design, that’s a single 8MP shooter at the top left corner with a LED flash by the side. Features on the camera includes autofocus, Geo-tagging, touch focus, HDR, panorama and others. Record videos of 1080p@30fps. While the 5MP selfie camera has its own dedicated LED flash as well with 1080 pixels.

Powering the Panasonic P101 is a 2500mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery with no fast charging technology. Even without the fast charging feature, it shouldn’t take up to 2.4 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.
