In a few days, Microsoft will present its new Microsoft Surface Laptop 2 and Surface Pro 6. However, some ‘disappointing’ rumors about them have been leaking, which have to do with USB-C connectors.
Microsoft would present its new Surface without USB-C support
A rumor of the German website WinFuture, suggests that Microsoft intends to continue omitting the support of USB-C connectors on these devices. Although WinFuture also suggests that there will be a mini DisplayPort for the connectivity of external screens.
Microsoft already implements its own connector on their Surface devices, but they have also started selling USB-C adapters for $ 79 this year, which is an extra cost for users. USB-C is generally accepted as more convenient by buyers when operating on all compatible devices without restrictions. Users can share cables and do not need to keep separate cables between devices.
Many users expected Microsoft to see the light and integrate it into the new Surface devices that are about to be revealed. However, it does not seem to be the case.
What features can users expect with the Surface Laptop 2 and Pro 6 notebooks?
If you have to believe the latest rumors, the base model will come with 8 GB of RAM and the Intel Core i5-8250U processor. As for storage, it would use a 128 GB PCIe NVMe SSD drive.
Meanwhile, the Surface Pro 6 would have a base model with 4 GB of RAM and an Intel Core m3-7Y30 processor. The memory could be expanded up to 16 GB of RAM with an option of i7 quad-core processor of the eighth generation. The storage is also supposed to be upgraded up to 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD.
The Microsoft event will be held on October 2.
