Well, the OEM company are back with another mid-ranger called the Samsung Galaxy On6. The new smartphone is exclusive to online shopping store Flipkart in India. The Samsung Galaxy On6 looks more like a rebrand Samsung Galaxy J6, which was released a few months ago.

The price of the Samsung Galaxy On6 puts it in direct competition with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro. The Redmi Note 5 Pro is currently the best-selling mid-range in 2024. It’s an absolute beauty when you consider its specs and features. So can Samsung get it right this time around with the Samsung Galaxy On6? The design of the Samsung Galaxy On6 is just plain with a plastic unibody. Am not really impressed with the designs of Samsung’s mid-rangers so far this year. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro comes in an aluminum unibody with an antenna line at the top and bottom. The screen of the Samsung Galaxy On6 as sharp edges whereas the Redmi Note 5 Pro features a curved screen. For dimensions and weight, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro measures 158.6 x 75.4 x 8.1 mm with 181 grams. While the Samsung Galaxy On6 measures 149.3 x 70.2 x 8.2 mm with 154 grams.

The back of the Samsung Galaxy On6 features a fingerprint sensor, LED flash and a single rear camera. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro instead of a single rear camera, features a dual rear camera. The dual rear camera is aligned at the top left corner in a vertical direction. You also get a rear mounted fingerprint sensor on the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The Samsung Galaxy On6 is available in three body colors; Black, Gold, and Blue. Whereas, the Redmi Note 5 Pro is available in Lake Blue, Rose Gold, Champagne Gold and Black body colors.

The Samsung Galaxy On6 features a 5.6 inch Super AMOLED panel with a 75.9% screen-to-body ratio. The screen technology is probably the best thing happening on Samsung mid-rangers this year. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro packs a 5.99 inch IPS LCD panel with a 77.4% screen-to-body ratio. The Super AMOLED panel is way better than the IPS LCD panel.

The display of the Galaxy On6 features an 18.5:9 aspect ratio, 720 x 1480 pixels resolution and 294 pixels per inch density. Whereas, the display of the Redmi Note 5 Pro features an 18:9 aspect ratio, 1080 x 2160 pixels resolution and 403 pixels per inch density.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro features a dual rear camera consisting of a 12MP primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture, a 5MP secondary sensor with f/2.0 aperture and dual-LED flash. Up front, is a 20MP selfie shooter with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash.

Whereas, under the hood of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset and Adreno 509 graphics processing unit. The Octa-core processor on the Redmi Note 5 Pro clocks at 1.8GHz.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro runs on MIUI 9 user interface overlaid on Android 7.1.2 Nougat. While the Samsung Galaxy On6 runs on Samsung experience user interface overlaid on Android 8.0 Oreo.
