Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus are currently receiving a new patch on T-Mobile’s network. The third largest wireless carrier in the United States has noted that this update will come with security enhancements that do not explicitly state this requirement.
The new patch for the Galaxy S9 5.8 inch has a capacity of 343MB and is determined by the version number G960USQU2ARC6, while the patch on the Galaxy S9 Plus 6.2 inches heavier than the 373MB code G965USQU2ARC6.
The unlocked versions of the two phables sold in the United States have yet to receive security updates in March. Samsung previously explained that these models need more testing because their engineers have to verify on all local networks instead of just one compatible carrier.
That failure seems to be affecting devices equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 chip, while versions using the Samsung Exynos 9810 chip sold outside North America, Mexico, and China have received updates. March of 2018 in mid-March, days after the Korean tech giant officially launched this high-end phone line.
Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus will celebrate the first month of global sales on Monday. Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus are still expected to be the best-selling Android smartphones of the year, many analysts predict.
