In 2019, foldable smartphones became possible for us to hold in the palm of our hands. 2020 promises to be more than that. Analysts expect that foldable smartphones will still be here. That is confirmed from Samsung as it releases the new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, reputed to be the second foldable smartphone from the company. Will it revive the revenue of the company? Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Design
For one thing, a mere look of this Galaxy Z Flip shows that rather than being a replacement to the former Fold, this Flip is to compliment it, especially with the new hinge design and form factor. The ultra-thin glass is also one reason why the smartphone isn’t that heavy as much as it has a second display.
Display
Galaxy Z Flip passes as a high-end smartphone of a 6.7 Super AMOLED display. But there’s another display, it is seen that this one is 1.06 inches. There is the 16:10 Aspect Ratio. The second display is 116 x 300 pixels. Also, there is 425 PPI, while display protection comes at Corning Gorilla Glass 6.
Processor
The chipset found in the Galaxy Z Flip is Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+. Process technology stands at 7 nm. The CPU is Octa-core. Furthermore, the GPU which is for good graphics is Qualcomm Adreno 700 MHz.
Storage
Samsung is not ready to get things more complicated in this case. Storage is very simple and this is also one memorable area for the phone. However, some may not like it. There are no variants when you look at the storage and no space for a microSD card. Even so, the RAM is 8 GB. While the 256 GB internal storage.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is empowered by a 3300 mAh non-removable Li-Po battery that has fast charging features. Ordinarily, the batteries in this power range are usually removable but the company ensures this battery stays put. It has wireless charging and we would love to tell you how long it will last overall but we can’t.
Speaker and Call Quality
This Z Flip has a loudspeaker Dolby Atmos type. AKG sound with active noise cancellation and a dedicated mic. It is fortified in a way that is synonymous with other high-end Samsung devices, especially when you compare the sound quality. A 3.5mm out port jack even makes things better.
Software Features & Sensors
For sure, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is Android 10 empowered. This lives on One UI 2.0 user interface. This is sure to drive the engine as the operating system in a very balanced way. Furthermore, the sensors are fingerprint (which is side-mounted), accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity, barometer, and compass.
Camera, Video, and Image Quality
The dual camera is situated at the front of the phone. No full word on those for now but we know that there will be a 12 MP at the rear and 10 MP at the front. We have also been able to certify that there will be ultrawide settings and other features such as Dual-LED flash, HDR, panorama, and others in the camera department. Video performance in the smartphone is 2160p@30fps.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Price
It is not written in stone yet and probably, will never be. But there are speculations this phone will sell for between $1,400 (N509,170) to $1,500 (N545,535).
Verdict
Bad news! It seems that this phone is not a 5G network device. Also, the battery not reaching up to 4000 mAh is also bad news. The price of about $1,400 – $1,500 seems okay for a smartphone with five cameras, lots of space and very powerful screen resolution. The phone is also coming in nice colors and we think users would love these colors.
