The Schenker XMG Ultra 15 is a gaming laptop in its own category. This is simply because of the laptop’s somewhat modularity and most importantly, the use of a desktop CPU. The majority of laptops come with mobile CPUs, hence, a desktop-class CPU makes it a big deal. Besides, the XMG Ultra 15 – like many other Schenker laptops – can be customized according to buyer’s preferences.
Design
The XMG Ultra 15 does not belong to the class of ultra-portable gaming notebooks. This laptop has a footprint of 386 x 262 mm and a height of 38 mm. it is fairly heavy as it weighs 3.5 kg on the scales.
Display
Nowadays, it is no longer unusual to find laptops fitted with high-refresh-rate displays. The Schenker XMG Ultra 15 subscribes to this growing trend as it sports a 120 Hz 15.6-inch panel. Another high-end processor – this time a graphics processor, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 is responsible for graphics processing. In combination with the desktop-class CPU, this GPU gives the XMG Ultra 15 an edge over similar laptops with the GTX 1070 but having a mobile CPU. Besides these, the processors can also be replaced as they are not permanently soldered onto the motherboard.
The working memory is 16GB which is the result of two 8GB DDR4 RAM chips. With two additional slots empty, the RAM can be expanded to a maximum of 64GB. A 500GB SSD is fitted for storing files and applications as well as the Windows 10 OS.
Battery Life
Moving forward, the Schenker XMG Ultra 15 packs an 82 Wh Li-ion battery that comprises 8 cells. Unfortunately, this large battery capacity does not translate into long battery runtime as the best you can get from it is a maximum of about 4 hours (on minimum settings).

The Schenker XMG Ultra 15 may not be the slimmest or most portable gaming notebook in the market, but what it lacks in portability, it makes for in performance.
