As the primary account holder, you are provided two options to control the type of content viewed on the account.
- Account-level (hard controls) – It lets you set a 4-digit PIN which must be entered before any TV Show or movie above a selected maturity level can be viewed on any profile.
- Profile-level (soft controls) – This option lets you set the maturity level for a particular profile to control the TV shows and movies that can be viewed on that profile. This option makes sure that your child uses only the correct profile.
How to Set Profile Level Parental Controls for Netflix Account
- Launch any web browser on your iPhone, iPad or computer and go to the Netflix website (Netflix.com) and then sign in to your account.
- Next, click on “Manage Profiles.”
- Next, click on the profile you wish to manage and then click on the pencil icon on that profile to open the profile settings.
- Under the “Allowed TV shows and Movies,” you need to select the maturity level you want for the account. Each account is set to let you access content on the different maturity levels. However, you can configure them.
- For Little Kids Only – This will let you watch only TV shows and movies that are available for all ages.
- For Older Kids and below – This will let you watch only TV shows and movies that are suitable for older kids.
- For Teens and below – This will let you watch only TV shows and movies that are suitable for teens.
- All Maturity Levels – This will let you watch all TV shows and movies available including adult content.
- Note – The profile for the primary account holder can only be set for Teens and below or All Maturity levels.
- When you have selected a maturity level, click on “Save.”
That is all!
It will take about 8 hours for the changes you made to take effect.
Tip – If you want the changes you made on parental control to be implemented immediately, sign out of your Netflix on the device you want the change to take effect and then sign in again.
How to Set Account Level Parental Controls for Netflix Account
Set a PIN if you want to restrict certain maturity levels of contents of your entire account. This makes sure that your child does not view content rated above your the maturity level you select.
- Launch any web browser and go to the Netflix website.
- Next, click on “Account” to go to your Netflix Account page.
- Now, you need to choose the Parental controls link in the Settings section.
- Now, you need to type in your Netflix account password in the screen.
- Next, you need to set the PIN protection level from any of the following options.
- Little Kids
- Older Kids
- Teens
- Adults
- When you have selected a level, click on “Save” to save your settings.
How to Disable Pin from Parental Controls for Netflix Account
If you do not want to use a PIN for the parental controls anymore, you can easily remove it. To do this, follow the steps below.
- Launch any web browser and go to the Netflix website.
- Next, click on “Account” to go to your Netflix Account page.
- Now, you need to click on the link for Parental Controls in the Settings section.
- Type in your Netflix account password.
- Next, you need to set your viewing restriction level to the highest setting, Adults.
- Finally, click on the Save button to save your settings.
