The Freedom 251 Smartphone Has The iPhone Look

The Ringing Bell’s ‘Freedom 251’ smartphone caught so many people’s attention because of its price tag before it was released for order yesterday. It is currently the cheapest Android phone in the world. It cost only Rs 251 (less than $4) in India.

The Freedom 251 comes with some features that are worth more than the price. It has a 4 inch screen and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, has 1GB of RAM and 8GB storage. The design of the device has the Apple iPhone 4s running on Android OS

According to HindustanTimes, the phone is riddled with problems and the device may be off the market if Apple decides to go after it. The device infringes on Apple’s copyright.

The company behind the phone is involved in some kind of deceit. Here is the image on the site yesterday:

And today, the image has been replaced with this iPhone clone:

The Hindustan Times received a copy and what was received looks like an iPhone inside-out. Here is what the user interface looks like:

You can clearly see the icons look more like iOS icons.

Most built-in app icons on the Freedom 251 are a direct copy of icons on Apple’s iPhone. Take a look at the screenshot below for a side-by-side comparison of the icons on the Freedom 251 and the iPhone. Even the web browser app is a rip-off of Apple’s Safari browser that only exists on iPhones, iPads, and the Mac.
