For those who love multimedia consumption the Toshiba Satellite Radius P55 gives an edge with its attractive and stunning 4K display and excellent sound quality and a beautiful design that can transform it into five different modes. With its powerful Intel Core i7 processor, 12GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, this is a masterpiece from Toshiba.
Design
Made from brushed aluminum in Carbon Gray, the P55 looks stunning from the get go. Toshiba aren’t known for beautifully designed laptops but this is an exception.
There are two USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, SD card reader, a secure lock slot and a power button on the laptop’s right side. On the left side you have a a USB 2.0 port, a headset jack, input for the power adapter, a volume rocker and a button for Windows Start.
The only draw back from the design is maybe the keyboard which looks poorly set out, it isn’t bad though it just doesn’t compliment the stunning design.
Coming in at 4.6 pounds and 14.9 x 9.6 x 0.79 inches, the P55 is on the thick side.
Display
The Radius P55’s 15.6-inch 4K touch screen delivers extremely stunning colors and details thanks to its 3840 x 2560 resolution.
The Radius P55 averaged 260 nits when tested for brightness.
Audio
The Radius P55 uses a pair of Harmon Kardon speakers with DTS Sound software. The sound quality is great and it doesn’t sound muddy.
Performance
The Toshiba convertible laptop has a 2.4-GHz Intel Core i7-5500U CPU with 12GB of RAM
In Geekbench 3 the laptop scored 6,053.
The Radius P55’s has 512GB m.2 SSD but the laptop’s integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 GPU doesn’t handle extremely heavy gaming titles that well. The laptop does run a little hot on the bottom under pressure.
Battery Life
You will get a guaranteed 5 hours on this laptop with ease. Don’t expect it to take you the whole day though.
Bottom Line
In the Satellite Radius P55, Toshiba looks good and offers amazing functionality for N250,000 and a device that can transform from notebook to tablet to stand mode in the blink of an eye.
But for those on a budget we feel the recently reviewed dell Inspiron 11 3000 might just be a better choice.
