There are certain times when I wish to work with complete peace of mind on my MacBook Pro and I do not want to be disturbed by notifications and alerts. Apart from unsubscribing to unnecessary emails or services, I simply make sure to enable or disable contacts, location and event suggestions on my Mac purely based on priority.

How to Enable or Disable Contact Suggestions on Mac
To enable or disable contacts suggestions on your Mac, follow the steps below.
- First of all, launch the Contacts application on your Mac and then open the Contacts menu by clicking on it in the top right corner of the screen.
- Next, click on “Preferences.”
- Make sure that the General tab is selected if it hasn’t been selected already.
- Now, check or uncheck the box beside “Show Contacts Siri Found in Apps” to either turn the suggested contacts feature On or OFF.
- If you uncheck the box, a reminder will appear on your screen saying that, “doing this would delete any unconfirmed contact suggestions.” Now, click on “Turn Off” to confirm your action.
That is it. You will no longer receive notifications on Contacts suggestions on your Mac anymore.
How to Enable or Disable Event Suggestions on Mac
To enable or disable event suggestions on your Mac, follow the steps below.
- First off, open the calendar application on your Mac and select the Calendar menu on the upper left side of the screen.
- Next, click on the “Preferences” option.
- Now, check or uncheck the box beside “Show Siri Found in Apps Calendar box” to either turn the suggested events feature On or Off.
- If you uncheck the box, a reminder will appear on your screen saying that, “This will delete any unconfirmed event suggestions and hide the Siri found in apps calendar.”
- Now, click on “Turn Off” to confirm your action.
That is it. You will no longer receive notifications on Events suggestions on your Mac anymore.
How to Enable or Disable Location Suggestions on Mac
To enable or disable location suggestions on your Mac, follow the steps below.
- First off, open the System Preferences application on your Mac.
- Next, click on the “Security & Privacy” option.
- Now, you need to click on the Privacy tab and then click on the lock button in the lower left corner of your screen.
- Next, enter your username and password to unlock Security and Privacy Preferences.
- Now, click on “Location Services” in Mac System Preferences from the left side menu.
- Next, click on System Services and then click on Details.
- Now, check or uncheck the box beside “Location-Based Suggestions ” to either turn the feature On or Off.
- Click Done to confirm your action.
That is all! You will no longer receive notifications on Contacts suggestions on your Mac anymore.
