Simply put, the Ulefone Armor 2S is the Ulefone Armor 2 baby brother and the latest addition to the Armor series of Ulefone’s line of smartphone. The Armor series houses rugged devices with the Ulefone Armor being the pioneering member of the family.
The device takes some traits off its big brother while some other were simply downgraded. Let’s see look at what the device packs under the headers below.
DESIGN AND DISPLAY
In terms of design, construction and body build, the Ulefone Armor 2S is a chip off the Armor 2. Both devices have the same positioning of components like the volume adjustment keys, power/lock button, and fingerprint scanner.
The Ulefone Armor 2S retains the same metal and plastic coating to give it that finesse rugged and tough appearance. The device also enjoys the latest Ingress Protection (IP) 68 which confers resistance against water, dust and shock to the Ulefone Armor 2S. With the way the device is structured, it is well placed to withstand several drops against hard surfaces without a scratch. Also the best device to take swimming, use in the rain and in other adverse conditions.
The Ulefone Armor 2S comes with a 5.0 inch LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. A perfect size Full HD display with top notch image and colour reproduction is what you on the Armor 2S. Not also forgetting ruggedness.
PROCESSOR, OS AND STORAGE
The Ulefone Armor 2S uses a less powerful processor when compared to its predecessors. Though not very powerful, it can get smartphone work and operation done quite well too. The device is embedded with MediaTek’s MT6737 processor. The SoC comes with four Cortex ARM Cortex-A53 cores (Quad Core) which clock a speed of 1.5GHz And the Android Nougat v7.0 operating system.
The storage capacities have also been reduced to 2GB (RAM) and 16GB built-in memory. Given the rate at which we consume large amount of data nowadays, 16GB may not seem enough. However, the storage can be expanded to 64GB via an external micro SD card.
CAMERA AND BATTERY
The camera qualities on the this device were also reduced to a very decent level. The Armor 2S comes with 13 megapixels lens on the rear and a LED flash and 8 megapixels on the front. Goes a long way to show how careful Ulefone was in trying not to downgrade the device too much that it looses that elegant touch it predecessor had.
The Ulefone Armor 2S comes with the Fast Charge feature which enables the colossal 4,700mAh Lithium Ion battery charge up to full capacity in 2-3 hours. May seem like a long time to charge a phone but the 2-3 hours gives more than 20 hours of usage and 41 hours of music play. That’s fair enough if you ask me.
