So you were going through your mail, and you suddenly see an error message which says “Unfortunately, Email has stopped.” Do not worry; you are not the only one who has experienced this. This is, of course, an issue no one would expect to experience on their brand new device.
This may be caused by different reasons. It may be glitches in the email app itself, or it might be another app causing a glitch. As such, there are many different ways to troubleshoot the issue.
Before you proceed with the guide, ask yourself these four questions:
- When was the last time I did a soft reset on my phone?
- Is my Internet connection working?
- How recently have I wiped the cache of the phone?
- Am I willing to consider performing a hard reset on my smartphone?
It will be better to take things a step at a time. You probably know that it is advised to perform a reboot on your phone every once in a while. This simple action could do your device some good.
A simple restart on your device can help get rid of some minor bugs and different kinds of errors. You should try doing this as frequently as you can.
If after performing a reboot, you still see the error, you should check your internet connection. The issue might be because your smartphone isn’t connected to the internet. You can also try connecting your device to a different wireless network or use mobile data.
If the issue still persists and you can’t go to a Samsung store, the only option left is to perform a hard reset on your device.
Performing a hard reset will clear all the contents saved on your device. All your settings will also be restored to default. Now, the error should no longer appear when you try using your email again.
Between rebooting your Note 9 and performing a hard reset, you can also try clearing your device’s cache. Clearing the cache data should the performance level of the email app and also get rid of any errors you might be experiencing.
- First off, turn off Note 9.
- Next up, press and hold the Home, Volume Up and Power keys.
- As soon as the Samsung logo appears on the screen, release the Power key.
- Next, the Android Recovery Screen will appear. Once it does, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
- Wait a few seconds and then scroll through the submenu until you get to the Wipe Cache Partition option. Use the Power button to select it.
- A Confirmation prompt message will appear on the screen. Use the Volume down button to select YES.
- Press the Power key, and the process will begin.
- Wait a few seconds and when its done, reboot your device by selecting Reboot System Now.
