An analysis put the iPhone X and iPhone 7 side by side to compare the quality of the two cameras built into the smartphones in a low-light environment.

When Apple released the iPhone 7 Plus in 2016, it announced that the camera of the device, when subjected to an environment where the lighting is low, would not switch to the secondary lens, but instead would use the primary camera exclusively. This was because of the use of the primary camera, in most cases, resulted in images richer in detail than those produced by the secondary lens.
