Vivo NEX S VS Vivo NEX A – the Apex concept smartphones has arrived

Vivo NEX S VS Vivo NEX A – The Apex concept smartphones has finally arrived. During the 2018 Mobile World Congress, which was held in Barcelona, Spain, Vivo showcased a concept smartphone called Apex. The industry was amazed at the concept, even I was hungry for it like a meal. The highlight of the concept smartphone was the almost 90% screen-to-body ratio and pop-up selfie camera. After the Congress, it looked like the concept will never see the light of the day. I for once was saddened by the thought of it.

Well, it’s finally official!!! Vivo has unveiled the Vivo Nex S (Nex ‘Ultimate’) and Vivo Nex A. The Vivo NEX S is the company’s flagship while the Vivo Nex A is the mid-range variant. Both smartphones come with the innovation of the concept Apex smartphone Vivo showcased at the Mobile World Congress. So let’s see what the Vivo Nex S and Vivo Nex S has to offer and their quality-price ratio.

Like most flagship and its mid-range variant, the Vivo NEX S and Vivo NEX A feature a similar design. They both sport a front and rear glass with aluminum frame, the back is made up of a reflective triangular pattern. The main difference in design between both NEX smartphones is the positioning of the fingerprint sensor. On the Vivo NEX A is a rear mounted fingerprint sensor. While the Vivo Nex S features a 3rd generation in-display fingerprint sensor. According to Vivo, they claim the fingerprint sensor offers 50% higher accuracy and 10% faster speed.

The display of both devices houses the earpiece and speaker that produces better sound quality. The Vivo NEX S and NEX A measures the same 162 x 77 x 8 mm in dimensions and weighs the same 199 grams. They’re both available in only Black and Red body colors. The dual rear camera of both NEX smartphones is aligned in a vertical direction with the LED flash at the top left corner.

The display of the Vivo NEX S is the same with that of the Vivo NEX A. Given that the Vivo NEX S is a mid-range variant, I’d say it’s a win for the device. They both sport a 6.59 inch Super AMOLED panel with an 86% screen-to-body ratio. Their display features a 19.3:9 aspect ratio, 1080 x 2316 pixels resolution and 388 pixels per inch density.
