WhatsApp is about to receive a much needed update!

As you might imagine, WhatsApp is one of the most popular chat applications on the planet. Which is probably due to the fact that all conversations can be encrypted (end-to-end) just as in iPhone iMessage.

However, unlike the iOS chat application, WhatsApp can be used on any platform. In fact, there are even versions for Windows and macOS, so you’re always ready to reply to any message. Still, WhatsApp is not perfect…

So now that the application is in Facebook hands, many users want some changes implemented! The goal is for many of these fans to have an even more powerful application than Apple’s iMessage. That said, in the list of requirements we can find support for multiple devices simultaneously, custom version for tablets, etc…

One of the most important is undoubtedly being able to access WhatsApp on more than one device. It is really a limiting factor, which has no great reason to exist in 2024.

After all, if I have 2 smartphones, why can I only use WhatsApp on one of them?

A WhatsApp account is based on the user’s mobile number. It is a security feature that unfortunately is preventing support for other devices at the same time.

So, but there are no windows and macOS versions !? There is no mobile number!

Right, but the desktop version of WhatsApp works from your phone app. So when we talk about support for other handsets independently… We need to consider implementing encryption of conversations everywhere. Something that is apparently a bit complex, but Facebook is trying to solve.

Unfortunately, it is still unclear when this update will hit the market. However, according to all the information that has come to the Internet in recent days… It should not be long before the world of WhatsApp changes a little.
