Xbox One – Microsoft Promises Mouse and Keyboard Support

New horizons exist now as Microsoft wants to make good its promise of giving mouse and keyboard support for the Xbox One. Soon, tech fans are about to welcome the feature on their consoles.

This comes ahead of a partnership with Razer, a gaming devices and software manufacturer. This new partnership has a lot to do with the creation of new accessories.

For now, a select few Xbox One owners can now do some experiment with using a mouse. This feature was announced towards the end of October 2018, and it is part of a new system update rolling out for members of the Alpha Skip Ahead and Beta Ring programs.

To enable, users have to go to the corresponding Quest in the Xbox Insider Hub. Doing this enables support. Furthermore, Microsoft has revealed that no specific hardware is required to effect the change. Support is currently limited to warframe, the online co-op shooter/action game. So, no one should expect to get a huge advantage over opponents in multiplayer games.

Probably, the reason why this has dragged a bit is due to the fact that Microsoft has been very careful about implementing the mouse and keyboard support on the Xbox One in order to avoid some players from having an unfair advantage in first-person shooters games. Soon, the feature will be rolled out, and game console owners will have the opportunity to make use of the feature. However, it is up to developers  to choose if their title matches with the mouse and keyboard.

Furthermore, it appears that players who enjoy multiplayer-focused games like Overwatch and Fortnite can have be relieved and those that prefer open world RPGs and other co-op or solo titles  should have the choice of a control scheme that might suit them better.

As for Red Dead Redemption 2, it is now available on both PS4 and the Xbox One. Some users are wondering where its multiplayer mode is and how to access it. The fact is that it is not yet available. Xbox One users may have it in the month of November 2018 as beta. Probably, that release will also meet up with the promise from Microsoft.
