Rumors have it that new the Xiaomi Mi Band 5 will come in a larger 1.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen display. This is pretty bigger compared to the Xiaomi Mi Band 4 that has a 0.95-inch display.
So this is an upgrade on the Band 5. However, the Band 5 may be heavier than the later. As for the new AMOLED display, it will have more contrast than the Mi Band 4’s. Unlike the Xiaomi Mi Band 3 and Band 4 that has NFC support in China only, earlier rumors have it that the new Band is coming with a global NFC support.
However, recently another rumor suggested that NFC might still be limited to only the Chinese model. We are just hoping that it comes with global NFC support which will be convenient for many users.
Furthermore, the Xiaomi Mi Band 5 is coming with new tracing features such as SpO2 or blood oxygen tracking and menstrual cycle tracking. This is new because they are not present on the Mi Band 4 and Band 3.
The Mi Band 5 will also come with a new set of fitness metrics that will allow users to track heart health. Just like the Google Fit Heart Points and Fitbit’s Active Zone Minutes, the new Band 5 will come with the PAI Health.
The PAI stands for Personal Activity Intelligence, and it provides users with an easy-to-understand metric that essentially gamifies your overall health. The PAI also gives users a scoring rate based on 1-100 on their activity, heart, and many more.
Another notable feature that the new Xiaomi Mi Band 5 will come with is the AI assistant support which is Amazon’s Alexa. We are hopeful that the Mi Band 5 will come with an improved and more accurate heart sensor.
