Xiaomi has just updated its Mi Note series with the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 in China, as was leaked earlier. The smartphone was launched alongside the Mi MIX 2, the second iteration of the record-breaking bezel-less smartphone that was designed by world renowned designer, Philippe Starck.

The Xiaomi Mi Note 3 is similar to the Mi 6 in the rear camera section, but it’s a different ball game when the focus is switched to the front of the smartphone. Here is what the Mi Note 3 brings to the table.

Design & Display
The Xiaomi Mi Note 3 has a beautiful design consisting of a curved glass body and an aluminium frame, placing it in the class of smartphones like the Galaxy S8 in terms of design. It comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display which has 94.4% NTSC color gamut, 1500:1 contrast ratio and a 550 nits max brightness level.
It weighs 163 grammes and is just 7.6 millimetres thick. The phone uses a physical home button which is placed below its display at the front.
Storage & Processor
The Mi Note 3 is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 660 14nm Mobile Platform processor that can operate at speeds up to 2.2GHz. Its graphics operations are handled by an Adreno 512 GPU.
The phone comes with a whopping RAM capacity of 6GB operating on the LPDDR4x technology. It comes in 64GB and 128GB variants of eMMC 5.1 internal storage.
Camera
The Mi Note 3 sports a 16MP camera with a 2μm pixel size at the front for taking selfies.
A dual camera setup is present at the rear consisting of a 12MP primary camera with a f/1.8 aperture, 1.25μm pixel size, 4-axis OIS and 4K video recording, and a 12MP secondary camera with a larger f/2.6 aperture to capture depth of field of objects, 1.0μm pixel size and 52mm portrait lens. There’s also a dual-tone LED flash for making your images brighter.
Battery & Connectivity
The Xiaomi Mi Note 3 packs a 3500mAh battery with fast charging tech from Qualcomm (Quick Charge 3.0). It comes with dual nano SIM slots and supports 4G LTE networks. It has a USB Type-C port and offers connectivity options like WiFi 802.11ac dual-band (2×2 MU-MIMO ), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou and NFC.
Software & Hardware
The Xiaomi Mi Note 3 runs on the recently-released MIUI 9 which is built upon version 7.1 Nougat of the Android operating system.
It comes with a fingerprint sensor which is embedded in its home button at the front, and packs stereo speakers to provide a fulfilling audio experience.
