Xiaomi Mi Play surprises with its photographic abilities

The Xiaomi Mi Play was introduced just a few days ago and eventually caused some controversy among the brand’s fans. The whole controversy ended up being generated by several rumors that preceded its launch of this Android smartphone.

Thanks to its name, there was a lot of talk about the possibility of this device presenting itself as a true gaming smartphone. Well, the same did not happen. Although its performance is quite surprising, the level of the specifications did not coincide with what was expected by the fans of the mark.

However, this does not mean that the Xiaomi Mi Play is not an interesting smartphone. Quite the contrary, especially considering all it has to offer at a very attractive price.

Another of the details that left many users behind is the fact that it comes equipped with the MediaTek Helio P35 processor. We already know that MediaTek is not very popular with Android users. But this processor has already proved quite solid.

Today, co-founder of the Chinese manufacturer – Lin Bin – decided to use his account at Weibo to publish two photos captured with the dual rear camera of Xiaomi Mi Play. Although they seem to have been taken with very favorable ambient conditions, the results are quite surprising.

I recall that the Mi Play comes with a dual rear camera, consisting of the main sensor of 12 megapixels and a secondary of only 2 megapixels. Thus, with these specifications, no great results would be expected.

Still, it seems that the manufacturer has been able to greatly improve its photographic software with the help of AI (artificial intelligence) technology. In both photos, we can see a very well achieved Bokeh effect. While the plane in focus presents a level of detail quite impressive.

During its presentation, the manufacturer has ensured that photographic results in low-light environments are well above average. So we will continue to look forward to seeing what this Xiaomi Mi Play is able to offer in this kind of environment.

Finally, for a smartphone that should reach the market for about 170 euros. Thus, it seems destined to become quite popular. That is if the brand’s fans decide to ‘close their eyes’ regarding the MediaTek processor.
