Xiaomi is crazy. After presenting the world with a smartphone with a screen that can be removed from the device, here it is developing a new device with three hidden cameras. The Letsgodigital website has already given its hand to this patent, which is something special. However, photography on this Xiaomi thanks to the hidden cameras is not the only highlight.

The designs of this equipment have already been patented and reveal a device with a screen all around. Thus, thanks to this type of panel, the smartphone only has three frames. That said, we have the top frame, the bottom frame, and just one side.

The camera is another highlight. It’s hidden. In fact, they are hidden in a pop-up module. This means that there are no monokines or holes in the screen. More specifically, the mechanism includes three camera sensors and an LED Flash. It can also be used to take selfies and I’m sure it will take the best ones. At least judging by the number of sensors.

However, the power button is located at the bottom of the device. There is also a SIM card slot, a USB-C plug, and the speaker.

Of course, we still don’t know when this equipment will go into production. However, it will attract a lot of attention.

In fact, it seems that Xiaomi is doing all-in in the smartphone field. Yesterday, as I mentioned, we saw a very interesting proposal from this manufacturer too.

The modularity of smartphones is not something new. However, it has always been limited to more basic things like connecting speakers. However, Xiaomi wants to completely transform this concept and will launch a screen that can be removed from the device and used wirelessly. This is undoubtedly a very interesting approach. But what can Xiaomi’s modular smartphone bring to the market?

The patent, discovered by the LetsGoDigital website, was published today in the Intellectual Property Administration of China (CNIPA) and appears to have been submitted on March 31, 2020. Xiaomi has sketches of the two-part mechanisms with almost 22 product images.

But how do the two parts work? It’s simple. We have the main part which is the smartphone itself and the detachable screen. Of course, the body is thicker than the panel, but this is not surprising. An important detail is the presence of a full-screen experience without any hole or pop-up camera. Another issue is that if the purpose of this panel is to use separately and even without wires, for sure it has its own battery.

Well, if there is no monoblock, hole in the screen, or pop-up camera, then it is very likely that it is hidden in the panel itself. This makes some sense, not least because in one of the patent images we see the cameras. This technology has been in development for some time. In fact, we’ve even seen some demos on the Internet. However, it has always been said that it was not yet ready or at least mature enough.
