Xiaomi Redmi Go has just been announced by smartphone company Redmi. Although the company revealed what the smartphone will look like, it failed to reveal an official price for the device. It is a mid-range phone with Qualcomm snapdragon chipset, a moderate camera department and a battery life that just as well go well with the performance.

Whatever the case may be, we expect this phone to be an affordable smartphone because it lacks a fingerprint scanner and some few other star features like fast charging support.

In a nutshell, let’s review some of the salient features of Xiaomi Redmi Go smartphones and see just how unique it is.

Design and Display of Xiaomi Redmi Go

For a start, this phone arrives in aluminum and plastic body design without fingerprint scanner. Dimensions are 140.4 x 70.1 x 8.4 mm and the weight specification is 137 grams. It comes in black and blue colors. Meanwhile, this phone has no waterproof protection but has face recognition.

Also, it is small with a 5 inches of IPS LCD capacitive multi-touch screen. There is no secondary display but it has display protection. To complement, it sports 1280 x 720 pixels of screen resolution. Also, there are 16 million colors with other nice features such as 72.3 percent screen to body ratio, 16:9 aspect ratio, and 294 pixel density.

Camera Features

This phone has single 8 MP primary rear camera that comes with LED flash. Additionally, at the front the selfie camera is 8 MP lens with front screen flash as well. However, the video performance in the device is 1080p.

Then, the camera features in the phone are as follows- Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, auto focus, HDR, with other features.

Hardware & Software

Also, Xiaomi Redmi Go also sports Android OS v8.1 Oreo as the operating system. That’s Go Edition user interface. In addition to that, the device comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset with 28nm process technology, and 64-bit architecture. Besides, the CPU is 1.4 GHz Quad-core cortex A53, and the GPU is Adreno 308.

Storage Capacity and Sensors

Besides, there is a 1GB RAM which cannot be increased. At the other side, the internal storage is 8GB that can be increased to 128GB. Furthermore, there are four sensors in the phone and they are accelerometer, proximity, compass, and light.

Network and Connectivity

Actually, Xiaomi Redmi Go phone is supported by GSM, HSPA and LTE networks. In view of these, this phone is able to manage 2G, 3G and 4G networks. This makes it a 4G mobile device that has dual nano SIM card slot.

Furthermore, Xiaomi Redmi Go also boasts of Bluetooth v4.2, Wi-Fi, mobile hotspot, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, headphone jack and micro USB 2.0. Clearly, there are no infrared, HDMI, and NFC in this device.

Battery Life in Xiaomi Redmi Go

The battery is a Li-Po 3000 mAh non-removable battery. It has no wireless charging and it has no fast charging support. The talk time and standby time are not specified.
